I had some soya chunk curry left so instead of throwing it off I thought of making it cutlets of it.Usually I make soya chunks cutlets by boiling soya chuncks and then making it paste in a mixer grinder.But this way too it came out so well that I specially called my friend and her husband for evening snack and made them have it..The too appreciated it .I do this all the time.When ever I make some thing I call up my friends to taste them…
Most of the cutlets taste soft and oily but as this one has soya chunks it makes it crispy too
Lets go ahead with the recipe now:-
Preparation and cooking-Half an hour or more
1 cup soya chunks (I had made soya chunk curry so I used that only)
2 Large mashed potatoes
1 finely chopped onion and green chilly
1tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
1tsp garam masala
2 tsp corainder powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
Pinch of pepper powder
1/2 cup suzi(Suji, Sooji, Semolina)(You can skip this I added it as my paste was really light in consistency)
Bread crums of 4 bread(Toast 3-4 slices of bread and then powder it in the mixie)
Still if your cutlets breaks then you can use 1 beaten egg or maida paste(take 2-3 tsp of maida(all purpose flour) and 2-3 tsp of water..In the sense equal maida and equal water)
Method and Preparation:-
Step1-Take Soya cunk and boil them .You can soak them for 3 minutes and squeeze out the water too or when ever you make soya chunk curry squeeze out the water of the soya chunks by pressing the chunks with your palms.
Step2-Blend it into a mixture.My paste came out really thin as I didn’t squeeze much therefore I am emphasizing on squeezing again and again.Also, When ever you have light paste just add more of binder such as suji/semolina, bread crums, egg or any binder.
Step3-Add mashed potato, suji,bread crums, chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, all the masalas which are mentioned above and make a thick paste.
Step5-Make cutlets and shape them the way you like.
Step6-Deep fry them and sprinkle some chat masala over it.
Serve hot with ketchup
