Vrat ka khaana recipe
Its my fifth day of Navratri fast and I am trying to make my fasting journey little interesting so that my inclination towards fasting doesn’t die down.It is difficult to eat fruits , juices and some oily food all the time especially for a person like me who just detest oil.
I try to bring innovation in Navratri food with some easy cooking recipes so that it doesn’t require much of time and energy .I made samak ke chawal ki kheer yesterday.It is a sweet pudding which is quiet tasty and light .I can take rice kheer much because I feel bloated out and stuffed after having it but sama ke chawal ki kheer is an delight to eat.
Here goes my easy cooking recipe
500 ml of milk
250 grams of samak ke chalwal (Samak rice – These are rice which looks like broken wheat only.One can include then when they are dieting too.)
50 gms Ghee
3 tblsp chopped Nuts
Step 1 - Wash the rice two times at least and soak it in water for 15 minutes.Drain out the water.
Step2 – Melt the ghee in a pan and add the drained samak rice and saute it for 4-5 minutes.
Step3 – Add the milk and cook it on low flame till the milk is reduced to 3/4th of its original quantity.
Step4 – Add sugar and simmer for a little while till the milk is reduced to half of its original quantity.
If you want you can garnish it with nuts.
