St Ives Apricot scrub (Product review)

                                                    St. Ives Apricot scrub Invigorating

When it comes to facial scrub I have most seen apricot scrub being most admired by all.Previously our scrub use to be very harsh and little greasy too but now market has many good scrub to experiment with.I have been using St Ives scrub since one and half month .This is a gentle stimulating facial scrub which oily skin people may enjoy.

I scrub my body quiet often and I always look for a scrub which has good fragrance and gently exfoliates skin without make me feel greasy.

This is what the product claims – Only St.Ives captures the secrets of naturally beautiful and healthy looking skin in this deep cleansing formulae that gently exfoliates , removing dull, dead skin cells to instantly reveal smooth, radiant, healthy looking skin.

Price of St. Ives Apricot scrub is Rs 250 for 150ml

The scrub comes in three varities which are :-

1. St Ives apricot scrub for gentle skin
2. St Ives Aprocit scrub (Invigorating)
3. St Ives Apricot whitening scrub

My experience with the product -

My hands got tanned during my recent trip to Srisailam.I used this every alternate day and my tan started vanishing.I was really happy to use it.It has mild grains and gives me a smooth feeling .Doesn’t make me feel greasy and decently priced as well.It has small grains which I always love using on my oily skin and yes it has a nice fragrance too.

But there are something which I would like to bring in front of you before going ahead. This product has many drawbacks which might not come across to many.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate – Well this is a common ingredient and many companies claims that it is natural because it is derived from vegetable oil. Many of you must be knowing that the same ingredient is used in cleaning garage floors also.

When SLS is tested on animals their eyes stops developing and I have even read that if it goes under children eyes then they might get cataracts too .

Ok lets ignore this ingredient and come to another one which is PEG ingredients -This is a toxic ingredient.

Moving ahead we have Triethamolamine and Methlisothiazolinone in it.- Both these ingredients gives negative effect even if taken in low doses. Infact some of the nations have banned this ingredient .

I though loved the product but when I searched its ingredients then I stopped using it on my face.I seriously don’t want to use cancerous products or banned products on my skin no matter how good the product is.

I am still using it on my body but too scared to use it on my face.St. Ives Apricot scrub is certainly not only an Apricot scrub

My advise - if you seriously liked the product and can’t stay away from it then use it on your hand or feet but not on your dear face.

Whats your opinion? Do you still believe in using the product in spite of having these harmful ingredients?
