Lotus Lip Balm – As the winter approaches, lips starts to dry up and chapped. In order to find a good lip balm I came across Lotus lip balm and thought to give it a try as iam a sucker of herbal products. I am so impressed by this lip balm that I thought of reviewing it so that many others can take its advantage.
Coco flavored lip therepy-SPF15
Price: Lotus lip balm costs 95/- for 4gms with an added advantage of SPF 15. Its available in many flavours-coco, chocolate, cherry, mint, rose, vanilla.
What it claims: It is a lip therapy that rehydrates, heals dry and chapped lips, and protects from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Ingredients: No list of full ingredients except shea butter, kokum butter and fruit extracts.
Cap opened, balm twisted up
My experience with it: This lip balm comes in a twist up form so its hygienic (as many lip balms comes in small pot in which you have to put your finger inside to take out the product, which has fear of contamination). It stays on my lips for 3-4 hrs or more easily. While going to bed I apply it generously and wake up with super soft lips in the morning. Even before applying lipstick I apply this lip balm underneath and my lips remains moisturized for many hours. When you twist it up you will see the balm is slightly coloured but its not a tinted lip balm, it gives a transparent sheen to lips. This coco flavored lip balm gives a feeling that am drinking coffee [I feel like eating it off
] but when you apply it to lips you won’t be able to smell it for long ie., its mildly flavoured. I am totally in love with it and looking forward to try out its other flovours as well.
My bare lips with Lotus Lip Balm
Pros:
- It comes in twist up tube so hygiene is maintained.
- It has SPF 15 and hence protects lips from UVA+UVB rays and darkening of lips.
- Its not expensive and can be found easily
- Being herbal it gives natural protection.
- Comes in 6 different flavours so you can choose according to your taste. J
- One tube will last you more than a month.
Cons:
- Every one now a days have a craze for tinted lip balms, Lotus lip balm is not
- tinted.
- Full ingredients list is not given.
- It gives moisturisation but not gloss type shine.
My final verdict: Although it doesn’t give gloss type shine but it does gives a sheen to lips, it moisturires very well and for long time, I don’t have to reapply again and again and with an added advantage of SPF 15 protection I will recommend to try this lip balm to everyone as other lip balms don’t give SPF protection.
Will I repurchase it: Yes of course, I love herbal products for my skin and Lotus lip balm has won my heart by fulfilling what it claims, I am looking forward to try out other flavours of lotus lip balm as well.
