Hello beautiful people, since you all must know the new MAC Venomous Villains is the latest new collection that has been creating quite a buzz. The more of buzz is created since these are a limited edition and makeup enthusiasts are just going restless grabbing this MAC Venomous Villains edition.
Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadows are also a part of the Venomous Villains limited edition by MAC. I too took advantage of the moment and got myself the two duos eye shadow namely “She Who Dares” and “Dark Magic”. The two are perfect eye shadows for those smoky looks.
Price: 21 $
My experience with MAC Venomous Villains Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadow- Dark Magic & She Who Dares:
Shades: SHE WHO DARES seems of keeping the basic undertone of both the shades in the duo as Black, though blacks are different. One shade is a navy blue shade with black undertones and pearl blue shimmers. The other shade in the duo is a Deep forest green color with similar black undertones and has lime green shimmers added to it.
BLACK MAGIC has one shade of deep pink with pearl pink shimmers and little hints of black undertones. The other shade of this duo is a blend of deep plum and purple with purplish shimmers.
Packaging: These eye shadows come in a regular round plastic packaging with a transparent lid. The tele carton characters imprinted on the pot differentiates these eye shadows from the eye shadows of MAC. They are very well themed and clearly depict Venomous feel of the edition.
Texture: Though they are shimmer loaded eye shadows but here comes the surprising factor, these Duos are not at all gritty or fell over the top. They just go very well with the gothic theme. They are easy to apply and can be used in both powder or wet form. And in both the ways of usage, they don’t fail to add drama to the eye look.
Pigmentation: The MAC Venomous Villains Maleficent Mineralize eye shadow duos are a clear winner on their pigmentation front. The color pay off is really awesome and in addition to such dark shades, these eye shadows go opaque in a single swipe and you can make the color darker if desired by opting to layer multiple swipes.
My take: I love to experiment and the purchase of these duo eye shadows was to satiate my love for experiments. These were impulsive purchase of mine since I really did not want to miss these vampy beauties from coming to my stash as these were limited edition.
On swatching them for the first time I was left in a minor shock for few seconds. I was like “She Who Dares” looks so black, how will I work with it?? But to my good luck after surpassing that shocked moment I tried it on my lids to create a look and WoW was the expression, this duo is so apt for those extremely dramatic eye looks that just go right with dramatic nights. The shimmer in it does not make the look overly heavy, which is a good thing.
“Dark Magic” is a little different from “She Who Dares”.
Dark Magic has got shades pink and purple in its duo which sometimes shows a little Lilac hint. I like this duo eye shadow as it gives me that smoky look with a yet very beautiful edge of pink and purple. A smoky look with no proper browns or blacks but hints of black and lilac in shades of pink and purple was an attracting theme.
Over all, I Loved how these MAC Venomous Villains Maleficent Mineralize Duo Eye Shadows worked on y lids and gave those dramatic smoky eye looks.
What I Like About the MAC Venomous Villains Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadow:
- Superbly pigmented.
- The duos works well together, no miss matching.
- Shimmer is not gritty.
- Smooth texture.
- Can be used in both powder and wet form.
- Goes well with the venomous theme.
What I Don’t Like About The MAC Venomous Villains Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadow:
- Too bold for usual makeup looks.
- A little extra product will take things towards extreme and make lids black.
- Shimmer may be an issue for some.
