Hello every one !!!
Did you guys know that we had solar eclipse today.I didn’t ..Neither did I read this in newspaper .Anyway it was all cloudy and dark whole day which I don’t like.So cheer myself up I made two
lip balms from Vaseline.
Lip balms made from vaseline (or petroleum jelly) are moisturizing and soothing. They soften lips and prevent lips from getting chapped.
To store the lip balm I used my Forrest essential small teeny meeny sample containers. You can use your old lip gloss instead and clean them up.I sterilised them and then cleaned them again with water.
This is how I made Chocolate lip balm.Recipe is pretty simple and hardly takes 10 minutes.
Take petroleum jelly (Vaseline in a microwavable bowl) and microwave it for 30 seconds to soften the vaseline.
You can melt the vaseline on low hear in a double boiler too or you can melt it by putting it in a plastic bag and then keeping the bag in hot water until it softens ups.
This is my softened vaseline.
Now put the vasleine in a jar
Add cocoa powder in the melted vaseline. This cocoa powder is added for the flavour therefore add according to your taste.
Stir well to combine and your chocolate lip balm is ready to be used.
Similarly I made honey lip balm by adding honey into the vasleine.Ratio of Vaseline and honey was 3:1
Pour it into the jar and I have two lip balms ready.
I just loved the flavour of both the lip balms. Can’t decide which one is better.
Some people suggest to make lip balm from old lipstick I feel this is a much better way to use lip balm because old lipsticks can get contaminated with bacteria.
PS- You can use honey lip balm as a gloss too
