By Prerana Sharma, Pedicure At Home – How To Do Pedicure At Home
Pedicure can be done at home using simple steps. It is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. So here are the things you will need to do a home pedicure.
A big bucket full warm water, any mild shampoo, baking soda to soften corn, Pumice stone, foot scrub, Cuticle cream, cutical pushing stick, Nail cutter, Nail file, cotton, nail polish.
Step 1) – Remove all the traces of nail paint if any from your toe nails.
Step 2) – Either in a bucket or bathtub take warm water. Commercial foot soaking tablets / liquids may be used in the water for moisturizing, deodorizing, and softening. If you don’t have these products, a tablespoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of bath oil will produce the same effect. Adding essential oils in your favorite scent will relax you and soften your feet. Soak your feet in this warm water for twenty minutes to soften calluses and corns.
Step 3) -Scrub your feet with a scrub cream to slough away dead skin cells. Massage the bath salt into your feet and rinse. (Tip: instead of bath salt, powdered salt+sugar too can be used as scrub.
Step 4) – Use a pumice stone to soften rough spots and reduce calluses.
Step 5) – Apply a cuticle cream to soften your cuticles. Use an cuticle pushing stick to gently push your cuticles back. Plz note that you should never cut the cuticles, this can cause injury to you as you are not a professional!! Cut the nails to the shape you desore and file them well.
Step 6) -Then rub on a foot cream or lotion to your feet and calves. Spend some time massaging your feet and calves.
Choose the perfect shade of nail polish and polish your toe nails. Use a shiny top coat if you prefer or do a nail art of your choice.
Step 8) -Tada!!….. your home pedicure is done in 1hr….
