Also known as Vitamin H, Biotin is a water soluble vitamin which is also considered as a part of the B-complex family of vitamins.
Source :-It is naturally available in many foods such as cauliflower, salmon, carrots, bananas, cereals and yeast. It’s readily available in many foods therefore women who eat healthy foods might not suffer from biotin deficiency.
Biotin helps in converting fatty acids and glucose into fuel for the energy one needs every day. Few symptoms of biotin deficiency are dry skin, fungal ingections, rashes, fine and brittle hair, high cholesterol, heart problem and hair loss.
If one is experiencing dry and brittle nails then biotin deficiency can be one of the possible causes and that is why it is often referred by dermatologists for helping people with hair loss.
One can also wash their hair with shampoo and conditioner which contains biotin and slica. Both the ingredients help in giving strength to the hair.
A very strange thing which I came to know about this vitamin was that people with Type A blood, don’t fully absorb B vitamins and they need higher dosage then what is recommended on the bottle.
Biotin is advisable and considered a must for women who want to have healthy nails and hair.
