I thought it’s been a while since I posted my first shampoo review. So today we are going to check out the Body Shop’s newly launched Rainforest Haircare. The bottles are real attractive. My friend got this Rainforest shine shampoo and conditioner and I asked her to tell me all about it since she has been using this now for 2 months.

- Product: Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo
- For hair type: Normal to dry hair
- Price: SGD 16.90 and INR 495 for 250ml
- Product claims: Cleanses to leave hair healthy-looking with incredible shine. Contains pracaxi oil, caméline seed oil, community trade olive oil, sugar, and aloe vera. No silicones, sulphates, parabens or colourants.
- How to use: Mix a small amount in the hands with water to create lather and apply to wet hair. Massage into the scalp and rinse thoroughly.
My friend’s experience:
According to body shop this shampoo contains no silicones, sulphates, parabens or colourants. It also meets our eco-conscious standard. It is respectful to the aquatic wildlife, meets strict biodegradability standards, and minimises the use of non-sustainable packaging resources.
Did you ever thought the shampoo you are using impact the environment? I never gave a thought really
Here again this purchase was from sale so she got a 60ml bottle. The shampoo comes in the usual body shop plastic bottle with flip top lid with the product details written over (if you look closely you can read it in the picture).
Actually I tried myself this shampoo few times so I can write more proper review thus this review is base on my friend’s and my experience.
It’s again one of those colourless/transparent shampoo with subtle smell, a hint of grass n sweetness which I liked. The shampoo texture is running and it doesn’t lather too much perhaps because no sulphate is used in the shampoo and thus you might finish the bottle fast
On the first wash itself you can notice that your hair gets good shine & glossy and get very manageable.
Cons: None, other than the shampoo may get finish fast as it doesn’t lather much.
There is also Rainforest Shine Conditioner which you use for best results.

- Price: SGD 16.90 and INR 495 for 250ml
- How to use: For best results, mix in the hands with water. Work through hair from root to tip.
Conditioner’s texture is milky white gel type and it’s just perfect neither thick nor runny. Fragrance is more of grass again like lemongrass but it’s milder than the shampoo fragrance. Adds good shine to hair.
One thing I liked about the conditioner is that it gets washed quickly n easily as compared to any other conditioner I used so far and also requires only a small amount to use.
Cons: I find the conditioner mild, well if you like mild conditioner then its not a minus point for you

I am on my second bottle of the shampoo and was actually thinking of doing a review myself
Actually they have a 400 ml bottle of both for INR 695 each and it is a good value for money.
But I read somewhere that using it as a leave-in gives better results.
The shampoo is a good one and doesnt dry out my hair but I somehow liked their olive glossing shampoo better than this one. It added better shine than this and I feel bad they stopped that one
As for the conditioner, it is very mild as you said and hence I switched over to fab india
I wish they could bring back their olive glossing shampoo and conditioner
which fab india shampoo you mean the aloevera protein one na?
Shampoo I use the TBS one. Conditioner is the fab india aloevera one. It is the best conditioner I have used till date
thanks..i am glad we reviewed it
Anamika, tell me what is the ONE product that i should buy from TBS. it’s my first purchase. plz don’t suggest something too expensive. i want to keep it down for the first time.

the shampoo is no doubt, really good, but my “personal” problem is i prefer lather!! if a shampoo doesn’t lather, i feel my hair is not clean yet and didn’t got rid of oil i applied B4 shampooing!!

i know..this is what we all feel as we r use to of lather..
but it is not good for hair.
Good morning anamika
a very good morning maha…some body seems very cheerful today
Yeah me enjoying my leave
Prerna actually it lathers less and hence you require a li’l more shampoo to work it into a lather thats it. Otherwise it cleans very well. And also it is paraben free
wow..paraben free..what else do i need then
