I purchased this product few months back from Lotus fairness range after coming back from my Kerala trip. My skin got tanned and Lotus created a good hype about their fairness range, so thought of trying this as I was supposed to join work immediately and had heard about fair and white gel cream on net I thought of buying this.
Lotus Herbal Fair Gel
- What it Claims? -Liquorice and Green Tea extracts present in this gel provide synergic action to regulate the activity of tyrosine, an enzyme present in the melanin formation, mainly responsible for darkening of skin. Revitalises cutaneous cells, effectively preventing aging and imparting glow to the skin.
- Price of Lotus Herbals Fairness gel : -The price of the product is Rs.180/- for 150 ml with a shell life of 3 years.
- Directions for Usage: -Apply to cleansed face morning and evening. Let dry.

I tried to take this pic as clear as possible as half of the bottle is empty and transparent ..still tried my level best 
Ingredients:(Complete list of ingredients is not given on the pack)
Liquorice (Mulethi) extract, Green tea extract and VitaminE.
- My Experience with the Product:It comes in a plastic bottle along with a pump as other Lotus products. The gel is very light and gets easily absorbed in the skin. It has a very light fragrance of Green Tea.
- But this product didn’t helped me at all in removing tan. Moreover it is so light that it I had to apply a day cream or a moisturizer above it. Gave me a feeling as nothing is applied on my face. It does not contain SPF due to which I cannot rely on it when going out in sun
. There was not even a slight improvement in my complexion.
Lotus Herbal Gel
Pros:
- Very light , gets easily absorbed in skin.
- Comes in a pump bottle which is convenient for travelling
Cons:
- No SPF.
- Cannot be used alone on skin.
- Not suitable for Dry skin although it claims to be suitable for all skin types, leaves skin feeling very dry.
- No improvement in skin complexion as it claims to lighten the complexion and imparting glow to the skin.
- Complete list of ingredients not mentioned.
Will I Buy this Again? – No, I won’t. I am not satisfied with the product.

Awww! Too bad it didn’t work as well.. Generally lotus prdts don’t work for me too
I guess you could try either some home remedy (curd) or some other brand like Dabur

I so agree….i have read mixed reactions..some people just swear by lotus products and some just love them like anything..
but fairness gel concept is something which even lotus must be knowing that it wont work
very honest review Sri…there was a time when i was obsessed with fairness and tried this gel too! but even after honestly using it for 3months,and inspite of not going into sun, my skin color was as same as 3months back (3months back i had clicked my pic to compare after 3months!!)
and in moisturization it is zero

it is a gel based moisturiser therefore moisturisation will be very less with this..I used lotus anti wrinkle gel and it was not moisturizing ..but gel soothes the oily skin
i have never been happy with gel based stuff, it does nothing to my skin…even aloe vera does no good to my skin………i think my skin has an aversion to gel based products, but i still like using them cos they are light

Yes Anu, due to the light nature of gel i bought it, but it didn’t make me gori
still whole summers last year i used it coz it didn’t made me to sweat / greasy as well…

i love using aloevera gel in summers because of the same reason..
and i didnt check my mail..did u sent me a love letter again
ya exactly i brought so many product after hearing positive response from so many ppl i bought aloevera gel, quinceseed massage cream, rosetone , lotus apiscrub lotus liptherapy lotus jojoba facewash and lotus sheamoist …….but none of them live up to their claim……….lotus aloevera gel has given me the dry patchy flaky skin which took 15 days to heal …..now i so scared of using aloe vera gel though one year back i used to purchase them at half price and it did their job decently ….
quinceseed cream is just okay cream and very expensive at 280 coz my ponds cream does it job better lotus apicrub is way toooooo harsh for face its good for scubing hands knees and foot ……..jojoba facewash and liptherapy and rosetone didnt live up to their expectation they are pricey and doesnt works at all….
only sheamoist is their decent product but the smell is too strong…..all in all i m totally disappointed with their products…..
i know..every one skin is different therefore it is the collective reviews which can truly do justice to a product..
u used jojoba face wash /?? which company and what price arti?
it is Lotus Jojobawash, contains active milli capsules..
there are jojoba, avocado, vit E in these milli capsules which have to b crushed during face wash…
But as Arti said, it didn’t lived upto expectations

yes, i have used all Lotus face washes, both the scrubs, 2face packs out of3, both the toners, all gels, both the massage cream a few moisturizers (ie., for oily skin)1 sun screen gel & its cleansing milk too……
lotus have made me a nice Guinea pig i guess

Hey these lotus ppl are selling their tea tree face washes on a buy 1 get 1 offer. But no seems to pick them up. There are bunches of them lying around in all stores.
I had tried this 3 yrs back and it was useless… I was lured by the color of the gel and attractive packaging
yup gel looks very attractive..that is so true sudha..
sorry to know that it di not work for u srilata. even SA insisted me to get that product. but it is of no use . just lying idle in my shelf. i dont know what to do with it ..
but i do like lotus 3 ibn 1 matte sunscreen , lotus berry scrub,kajal ,lotus compact powder and lotus alpha moist. these are the only ones which i like from lotus
though nailpaints from lotus are chemial free ,it doesnt last on nails. easily chipps off.
pappayablem, jojoba face wash ,tea tre face wash, hennapura shampoo and oil,botanical eyeliner nothing worked for me.

It never chipped off my nails too. In fact I was wearing it without the base coat and it stayed put for 4 days!

i liked their jojoba face wash, strawberry face wash, nutra moist cream, nutra nite cream. Their sunscreens r awesome
vn it cmz 2 sunscreen 4 me itz alwayz lotus. i hv been using their sunscreens 4 more den 5 yrs 
liked most of their products bt sad 2 say their green tea fairness gel was utterly nonsence 
nt even 1% improvement cud b seen after weeks of use

surprisingly.. lotus has always worked for me.
this liquorice gel did help me lose my tan with regular use.Although I would say that lotus whitening and brightening gel cream is the best.very light and effective.the one that comes in a tub like glass bottle.
