Bridal Makeup – 5 techniques of Highlighting facial features
A bridal makeup will be incomplete without an highlighter .Wont you agree on that?? Highlighter makes the face glow and gives that sheen which we all crave for .
There are variety of highlighter available in the market but if you are on a budget then you can use a slight shimmery eyeshadow.I love the way highlighter pops up the face and make skin look glowy.
This is my face without any highlighter.
I used my colorbar shimmer brick as highlighter here.The last shade of this brick is one of my favorite and yes is a bobby brown shimmer bar dupe which you all must be knowing by now.
If you want a subtle glow to your face then use a powder highlighter for a glossy finish creme highlighter works best.Generally gold highlighter suits warm skin tone where as silver highlighter suits cool undertones.
How to use highlighter on cheeks
I had already applied blush and for highlighter I used my finger and not brush here.If you can see in the picture below I have made a small “C” on my cheeks.C starts above the eyebrows and ends above my cheek bones.
How to apply highlighter on brow bone area.
Similarly I applied highlighter on my brow bone are as shown in the picture below.You can see face chart here for more info.
Blend with your finger or brush whatever you are comfortable in and this is how brow bone area will look.
I applied highlighter not on the apple of my cheeks but just near to them as I have heavy cheeks and I don’t want to highlight them.
You can see the spot where I applied the highlighter.
Blend blend blend !!!
Now I highlighted my nose by just dabbing some highlighter on the bridge of the nose.This way nose looks more pointed .You can see in the picture below where I applied the highlighter.
How To Highlight lips
If you have thin lips then you can highlight your lips.Apply some highlighter on the above lip line as shown in the picture.Let the highlighter go slightly past the lipline.
(Note this is the un blended lip highlighting pic just to show you where I applied it )
and blend the product gently into your lips with a clean finger.This generally is done before applying lipstick but I have seen people doing it after applying lipstick as well so I follow the same.If you have small lower lip than you can follow the reverse process.
and we are done 
Don’ts of highlighting on face
- Don’t ever use highlighter on your wrinkles
- Don’t highlight area around puffy eyes
- Don’t highlight the areas which have blemishes, acne scars etc

I cant help it..i never thought of this kind of highlighting on the cheeks..i have plump cheeks and this will help in giving it a contoured look na?
yes because it will highlight the upper area of the cheek ..so it will definitely give the contouring..
it is like we have to use 3 cs small c for highlighting and then bigger C for blush and biggest for the contour..
This is really helpful ya…I love that uv shown me a way to make my cheeks look sleeker…
