On any given day one product I cannot live without is a mascara. It instantly takes away the dullness from the eyes and for the most basic yet complete look a mascara and a lipgloss is sufficient! Since I keep changing my mascara every three months this time I decided to do away with the Maybelline Colossal mascara and try something new. So I bought the Avon SuperShock mascara in black. I generally prefer voluminous mascara because I already have curly lashes but it needs a little volume. I’m not a great fan of false eyelashes.

Coming back to the mascara ,there are equal number of pros and cons according to me. I am not very fascinated by the product but at the same time I don’t have a dislike towards it. The first few days I used the mascara it felt great and I thought I was going to stick to it and be loyal but within a month of using it the product in the mascara bottle kind of started hardening and didn’t work for me. And each time I had to clean the brush with a tissue before using it to avoid clumps. The colour is jet black and I loved the effect it had on my eyelashes but yet again I had to apply two coats to get the look I wanted.

- Would I buy the product again? Not really! There are better (much better!) mascaras in the market at a cheaper rate (This one cost me Rs 385!).
- Product rating: 2.5/5 Wouldn’t buy it again!

seriouslyy!!! maybelline mascaras are way better than this one.

Wel, since yesterday, whenever i click on the comment/reply tab the entire page reloads aand the comment box comes right at the end….whereas b4 after u changed the site format, the comment box appeared immediately after the comment after clicking on the tab….

I have used Avon eyeshoadows and lip balms so far, they were all BAD! The eyshadow made my whole face sparkle and the lip balm gave me infection on the lips!!!!

i like their naturals lip balms…i havent gotten any allergy from it but their lip slicks r horrible to the core! they smell yuck!!
ive heard gud stuff bout their e/s tho i’ve neva tried them myself…
omg !!! .. i will be carefull with avon products now.
haan..ive heard that their blush and e/s do tend t be powdery sometimes..
385/- for a mascara that dries in a month is too much
total wastage!

I’ve just made my first purchase from Avon – a pair of lippies. I hope they aren’t so bad :jittery:
Their lippies r quite good tans..very few turn out to be duds..

Maybelline is best drugstore brand for mascara…
that is a biased choice because we know u r crazy about strawberry flavours
exactly…but i too like it..but i like the aloe one more..the only aloe vera thing which doesnt gimme an allergy
has any1 tried maybelline’s hypercurl? does it give volmume 2 lashes like collosal?
hi ritu i have tried it and it give no volume if u compare it with collosal.
I have it but i got it in a discount anr d 230
so no probs even if it dries after 2 months 
.. i’d suggest warm up the mascara in betwn your hands or shake it hard before using. Also while closing make sure it closes tight. This will help avoid drying mascara.

Well written, Deepika! I like the fact that you’ve put down exactly what the product stood for where your make-up interests were concerned. And I’m DEFINITELY going to keep away from clumpy mascara that dries up in a month’s time! A preposterous monetary drain, to say the least!
