Made Chinese after a long time as hubby dear is asking me to make it since a month
.So today like an obedient wife
I made it though I now I feel I should have made for him before only as it hardly needs any preparation time.
So lets jump to the recipe immediately
Ingredients
Serves 2-3)
For Paneer/Indian cheese Marination
2tbsp Corn flour
3tbsp all purpose flour(maida)
Pinch of degi mirch for colour and some spicy taste
Salt as per taste(we will be adding it later in the gravy so put it accordingly)
1/2tsp ginger garlic paste(I like to use fresh)
Water
250gm of Paneer/Indian Cheese (Cut into square shape)
1 capsicum chopped into big pieces
2 large onion sliced
2 green chillies
2tsp Hot and chilli tomato sauce
1tsp vinegar
2tsp Soya Sauce
2tbsp. Oil(Use normal cooking oil I like using olive oil)
1tsp sugar
Salt (as per taste)
Black Pepper Powder- 1/2 tsp
Method & Preparation
Step1 – Take a bowl and add square shaped paneer into it.
Step2 – Now add chilli powder, salt, corn flour, all purpose flour, ginger garlic paste and little water. Batter should be little thick in consistency and should be able to cover all paneer cubes.
Step3 - In hot oil fry the marinated paneer and take them out separately. I like my paneer cubes to be crisp if you want them soft then fry for some less time.
Step4 - In the same pan add sliced onion , capsicum and chopped green chillies. When onion starts turning transparent add salt, black pepper powder, vinegar, soya sauce, chilli sauce, sugar and friend paneer in it.
Step5 – Keep the flame high throughout and after 30-40 seconds switch off the flame.
Serve got with fried rice
For wet chilli paneer add little water and cornflour paste with the sauces.
Happy weekend

Great recipe – thank you
I lived in Singapore for a time and the Indian restaurant nearby used to make lovely chili paneer. I’ve been looking for a similar recipe ever since I moved back to the UK and this one was great. I will definitely make it again……..even my kids loved it (they’re not too keen on very spicy food and it wasn’t as spicy as the one we used to have from the restaurant, but I thought it had a lot of nice flavour).
Yum !
glad i was of help to you
Thanks for dropping by Shriya n for the appreciation.
Loved you blog n saw many of your posts today.
the baking soda post was very informative , i do the other things but never tried cleaning my oven with it.
this paneer dish looks awesome , i make chilly paneer too but this one with curry patta n some indian spices is very different n appetizing.
THANKS MOHIT
