MAC illicit lipgloss is from MAC me over collection which is going to be released at the end of this month.It’s a huge collection of 51 pieces and in lipgloss they have introduced seven shades which are as follows :-
- Curvaceous
- Good Times
- Illiit
- Plum Fun
- Social Fun
- Social Light
- Spite
- The Wee Coquette
- Price In India – INR 950 approx/$14.50 in US
- Applicator – It has a doe foot applicator which helps me in giving even application .
My experience with MAC Illicit Lipglass
I am NC 42 and this shade completely washes me out if used alone.I have a similar shade MAC flesh lipglass from MAC mickey contractor collection which I bought when SA completely transformed my look by applying it on hot pink lipstick.Problem with MAC illiccit lipglass is that its too white and has very very fine white shimmer in it which are not visible when I layer it on my lips.
It gets applied evenly but settle into fine lines which makes me look ghastly.I then used this lipglass the way MAC SA did on me that is layering it on a dark shade lipstick.Trust me when you layer these kind of shades on any hot pink shade it completely transform the overall look of the lipstick .
- Fragrance - It has MAC trademark vanilla fragrance which we find in most of their lipstick and in lipglosses.
- Staying power – It’s about maximum of two hours .
- Texture – It’s thick in consistency and moisturizing enough .
MAC Illicit Lipglass Swatches
It’s a semi sheer beige shade with a bit of orange in it.I don’t find any thing pink in it as described by MAC
I used it on top of MAC Stylishly yours something new lipstick .It comepletely tone downs the colour and this way doesn’t settle into fine lines as well.
This is how it looks on me when topped it over hot pink
Recommendation – If you are looking for a nude shade then it certainly not a good colour to buy but its good to have if you are looking for a lipgloss which helps in toning down your lipstick.Kind of tranformation this shade gives can not be achieved by any lipgloss as such.
One thing which I will surely recommend from this collection is MAC off shoot lipstick.It has become my HG now

as u said, this wud only work to tone down a brighter shade..warna on its own it wud make me luk paler than usual…
very very pale..more of all it gets settle into fine lines

How come u are NC 42 gal… am NC 40 thoh surely have a darker complexion than yours
… hmm, maybe I haven’t tried the right MAC shades
and as far as this post is concerned, actually anything works with pink or rather pink makes everything work

haan…MAC stuff is so worth it if u do ur research properly..
I know Zara… but personally am not a big MAC fan… these days sooo many brands have come up with equally good pdts at a far lesser price… MAC’s good no doubt but I also feel it’s too hyped
thas somewhere true forum ….brands like revlon, inglot are a good competitor of MAC but it has its own uniqueness ..i have never got a better lipstick than MAC in any drugstore brand.if u know it then do recommend
hmmm… never tried their lipsticks ‘coz used to find them too expensive… have tried a lot of their other pdts, especially foundations and concealers… now since u saying lipsticks are tht gud, will certainly give it a try

i usually am scared of vivid shades so i use the patting method…saw it on lisa eldrige wala video na…just use ur finger to tk the color and then dab dab….workd well..i get to wear the pretty color and it doesn’t look loud either
I generally apply lipgloss over all lippies but i try different shades. I have never tried any shade similar to this to tone down. A… i don’t have mehr lipstick

ive never tried browns in maybelline….somehow m always attracted to their mauves…
the browns are really good for day wear.. majority of my nude and brown shades are from maybelline. bought a whole lot of maybelline lipsticks and glosses when they were on sale
