The Body Shop 100% Natural Lip Roll-on in Coconut: Review
Hi All,
This was part of my Diwali Haul and I chanced upon it quite by accident at the billing counter. Usually they keep the tiny lip balm tubs, but this time they had a new release…The 100% Natural Lip Balms. There were a huge array of flavors which were quite yummy, but I picked up coconut because I wanted something with a milder scent since I have a lot of citrus scented products and needed a change.
About TBS 100% Natural Lip Roll-on in Coconut:
Love the sweet smell of coconuts? It’s said by many people to be a scent that transports them to their favourite holiday destination. The Body Shop has harnessed this natural flavour to create the Coconut 100% Natural Lip Roll-On.
- Best for:all skin tones
How it works:
- Made with 100% natural ingredients
- Moisturizing
- Leaves lips feeling soft and smooth
- Non-tacky, non-waxy feel
There are 5 flavors to choose from;
- 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Zesty Orange – Feels zesty and fresh!
- 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Romantic Rose – A classic floral scent.
- 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Drift Away Coconut – Smells like tropical coconuts!
- 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Berry Goodness – Berry flavor without the seeds.
- 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Revitalising Mint – An ideal unisex menthol flavor.
- Size: 10ml
- Price: 310 INR
Ingredients:
- Sunflower seed oil: These bright yellow sunflowers produce oil that is perfect for the 100% Natural Lip Roll-On,helping restore the appearance of your lips and help them feel soft. The sunflower seed oil is pressed from the tiny seeds of the sunflower- this natural oil is today recognised as ideal as an emollient in a range of cosmetics.
- Sunflower wax: Sunflower wax is the perfect ingredient for 100% Natural Lip Roll-On, as it gives each flavour the perfect consistency to help it glide onto your lips.
- Sweet almond oil: Sweet almond oil has a fine texture, which helps the oil easily absorb into the skin, helping skin feel soft and smooth, yet without being greasy. Sweet almond oil is pressed from the kernels of almond trees that produce pink and white flowers.
- Avocado oil: Avocado oil is pressed from the fleshy pulp surrounding the avocado pit, producing a rich oil that is deeply moisturising.
- Jojoba oil: Produced from the seed of the jojoba plant, this liquid wax is used within 100% Natural Lip Roll-On, and has long been used by The Body Shop for its skin-caring benefits.
My experience with TBS 100% Natural Lip Roll-on in Coconut:
- Packaging: These are basically lip balms in oil form which come packaged in a cylindrical tube with a roller-ball applicator.
- Color:The roll on in coconut is totally transparent without any tint.
- Texture: It is extremely light, non sticky, thin and not at all goopy like other roll-ons I’ve used in the past. This is great to wear all alone or even to use to top off your lippy.
- Fragrance: This roll-on has a very mild coconutty scent which is pleasant but doesn’t last for more than 2-3mins.
- Staying Power: This is the only thing I have against this product is the staying power. It doesn’t last more than an hour and hence, it’s likely to get over pretty soon.
My Verdict:
Apart from the fact that the staying power leaves a lot to be desired, there is also the fact that this formula is not the least bit moisturizing. It does provide a nice clear gloss which is fun to wear, but from a functional point of view this does zilch..It doesn’t heal chapped lips and doesn’t moisturize them which makes me wonder why this was released during winters when most girls buy such products for the sole purpose of combating the dryness around.
Where this would be a nice product for college girls to carry around in their purposes or for everyone to use at home, it still leaves a lot to be desired for me since I bought this thinking that I’d be getting a very hygienic and convenient lip balm to carry around. Its only redeeming quality to me is the fact that there’s no reason to dip my fingers time and time again and worry about hygiene and getting the tub messy.
What I like about TBS 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Coconut:
- Nice packaging
- Its totally clear so can be used over a matte lippy as well
- Eliminates the use of fingers…so its very hygienic
- Pleasant fragrance
- Compact and travel friendly.
What I don’t like about TBS 100% Natural Lip Roll-On in Coconut:
- Doesn’t last too long & not too moisturizing
- Pretty pricey
Will I buy it again??: Nopes…Not unless I lose my mind or buy it on a whimsy.
Ratings:
- Moisturizing: 3.5/5
- Packaging: 5/5
- Staying Power: 3/5
- Availability: 4.5/5
- Price vs. Value: 3/5

Deepika recently posted..Lakme Absolute on HealthKart
it does hav a cooling effect Deeps, but it doesnt last….just within 5mins the sensation is gone…but i really like the fact that this is non sticky…warna it wud have gotten a big zero from me..
hehe..
a zero for a lip roll on worth over 300 bucks would have been depressing
seriously…in place of that i cud have gotten a blush!
lol.. thats exactly how i think! my mom asked me to get myself a raincoat today coz i usually use an umbrella when it rains and i told her i would rather spend the money on a blush! lol she gave me a hug and said “welcome to my world”

Kejal recently posted..My Mighty Giveaway!!
wohi to…its quite a waste…even if it were for 100bucks it wud still be ok…but 310 bucks is sacrilege!

seriously! uv saved 310 bucks Jee
Looks interesting but i’d totally get it if it wasn’t for the its lack of moisturising power
yeps…if onlyit had some moisturizing qualities…it wud hav been the best winter companion for my dry lips…
Hey Zara! Thanks for the review girl.. they make the girl’s lips look so lush in the pic that I have been wanting this since a long time… are the other one’s tinted?
I read yr review & I’m planning to skip this now.. wld rather use that money to buy a nivea lip balm & top it with clear gloss for that wet lippie look
the other ones r tinted but nothing to grt..i swatched the rose and berry ones but its extremely mild…hardly visible infact and not worth it….dont get it re…its so not worth it..
I’ve ths in ‘rose’ flavor.
Despite my initial liking, the moment I saw my lips dry’g n chapping cos I ws using ths, I knew its a failure. Even Nivea scores bttr thn ths one.
i agree ankita…total waste…and it does absolutely nothing for my lips either…
shhhh what a bummmer…
yeps…dil ke armaaan aaaannnsuoon me behhh gayeee…
All TBS products do extremely well for skin but even I had allot of these same issues you had with this product,, albeit the only thing I liked was the non-stickyness and the packaging.
for my lips m loving lotus lip balm cocoa flav these days,,its sooo good
nice review Zara

. U saved me 315 bucks Zara
hehe…anytime naf..i can so understand the happy feeling u must hav gotten after seeing the roll on…but then so crappy that it doesnt work for anything other than as a plain gloss…

Hey girl,
The packaging looks so pretty but then again it doesn’t serve the purpose, one shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, right?
