OMG…A! I saw the ad for this new sunscreen by lotus yest nite ..itself..n i made up my mind there n then ..m so gona try it! i love the lotus spf 40 sunscreen..i m using that since 3-4yrs now! I m hoping this to be good as well!

even i have heard that Zee but i don know how true it is.
it depends on the amount of time u need it zee..like400inutes for spf 40..that wlol protect for around 6.5hours after which u re apply…

from what I gather..the intensity of the sun, also matters..but i’ve also read that the higher the spf doesnt not necessarily mean longer time it’ll last. No matter how high the spf..If u r out and exposed to sun all day u need to re-apply every 2 hours..so beyong 40 spf it will not make a difference

Anything above SPF 50 is useless. Re-applying is a must after 5-6 hours. And I find the prices of Lotus very high too. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 50 (Rs 450/88 g) is the best and I don’t mind shelling out money for it.
One SPF is roughly 20-30 minutes. Taking the lower value, 90 SPF=90X20=1800 min=30 hours, which is misleading. Even 70X20=1400=23.333333 hours is laughable,.

SPF 70 and 90???
Is that really safe to use? Me too am using Lotus matte look SPF 40. It’s amazing but I guess am the only one who has an issue with it’s smell…it’s stronggg 
i guess u r few of them Nafisa..i am not sure abt SPF 70 or 90..frankly speaking..its a dicey issue but personally i don go above 30
There are tons of SPF100 products we get here in the US but SPF by itself is not a big deal because no matter what you do have to re-apply every 2 hrs. It only protects you from the burning UVB rays. Normally you would use SPF100 if you were playing sports or other outdoor activities that required you to stay in the sun for hours but in the city SPF15-20 is enough for Indian skin because we don’t burn easily like Caucasian skin. The aging and pigmentation damage is done by the UVA rays so the PA+++ is what you should be looking for. Anything under +++ is a big No-No!
I completely agree with you Mandy..but we do get tanned a lot because of our olive skin tone therefore i find minimum 30 is a must and like you said applying it after every 2 hrs.
