Colorbar Star Shine Lipgloss in Mad Cap Review & Swatches
You all know my depressing experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare. Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Bare I had high expectations for that shade and pretty low expectations (or rather none at all) for this shade of lip gloss. Well…to my surprise this turned out to be quite a mood-booster. Let’s see why…
About Colorbr Star Shine Lipgloss In Midcap :-
The Star Shine Lip Gloss is a sheer gloss with glitter that gives the lips a sheen and look of liquid diamonds. It makes the lips look fuller and more enhanced. The Star Shine Lip Gloss is ideal for night and party wear and can be used alone or over a lipstick and is further accentuated with a matching lipstick or lip liner.

Ingredients:
Packaging:
It comes in a cylindrical, clear, plastic tube with a steel-colored cap. It has a doe-foot applicator that is of the right size. The inner rim of the tube is lined in plastic to ensure that the applicator picks up just the right amount of product and to prevent spilling (Can u see the inner rim in the 2nd pic below?). The tube comes packaged in an outer carton with the complete list of ingredients. There is no seal and thus no way of knowing whether the product has been tampered with or not.
Shade description:
In the tube, it looks copper brown and is loaded with micro, holographic shimmer. I was kinda skeptical about wearing this since it looked so glitzy in the tube and frankly the name scared me a bit. Mad Cap?? 
Well…I can be a mad cap sometimes (ok…many times) but I don’t like loud shades. But its sooo wrongly named. On the lips, it goes on really sheer…just a hint of peachy brown color with shimmer. The shimmer is amazingly subtle and barely visible in daylight. It is simply gorgeous!! Though it is described as a party wear shade, I feel it can be worn lightly for daytime use too. In fact, I wore it at home for a couple of days to test it out no one said anything! It just looked like I was wearing clear gloss or a glossy lip balm. 
At night, the shimmer takes on a 3D effect. But again, it’s only visible up close and looks absolutely stunning!

Fragrance:
It smells like fruit cake! The fragrance has hints of lemon/orange…not tangy or citrusy but more of a sweet scent. Love it!! It’s not over-powering and doesn’t linger.
Texture:
It is slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY sticky, not overly so; just enough to help the color bind to the lips well and stay put. The shimmer particles are super fine, not at all gritty and you can’t feel them one bit. Lips look really full and plump and stay moisturized even after the color has faded.
Pigmentation:
As claimed, it is gives sheer coverage. U can intensify the color by picking up more gloss and layering it to give medium coverage. The color is buildable and when done so, the brown undertones are more visible. Even then, I don’t think this particular shade will hide any lip pigmentation.

Staying power:
This lasts for 4 to five hours effortlessly. I wore this and had a full meal, drinks and what not and it still looked like I’d freshly applied it! 
I guess it’s the mildly sticky nature of the gloss that helps it to remain intact for long.

What I like about Colorbar Star Shine Gloss in Mad Cap:-
- Leak-proof, travel-friendly packaging
- Sheer coverage
- Color glides on lips and moisturizes really well
- Shimmer looks very subtle and not OTT
- Shimmer is not at all gritty and cannot be felt
- Lasts for 4 to 5 hours easily even with meals in between
- Can be worn over lipsticks
- This shade will look flattering on all skin types
- Great party wear shade
- Can be worn lightly for day-time use
- Gloss has a 3D effect under artificial light (only visible up-close)
What I don’t like about Colorbar Star Shine Gloss in Mad Cap:
- Hmm…nothing really. Just wish they’d given it a nicer name

Final Verdict:
This gloss is for those who like very sheer coverage or to use as a top coat over other lipsticks. There is only a hint of color and is not for those looking for pigmentation coverage. Subtle shimmer, sweet fragrance and nude-ish tint make this a great buy
