Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Demure 82V Review and Swatches
All of us here have heard and used the much raved Velvet Matte Range from Colobar. This was my first lipstick from Colobar per se. A friend of mine tried it on me and she liked the shade so much that both of us bought one each.
The other day, Erica had posted a request on a Dupe for her Pink VOV Lipstick and I realized I have two shades of the same color and thought I’d review them to give her and you girls out here a better idea. I share a love hate relationship with this lippie and read to know why.
- Price and Quantity: 225/- for 4.2g
- The Shade: It’s a pink plum perfect matte lipstick with absolutely no shimmer. You can wear it every day to work as well.
- Texture and Pigmentation: A very creamy lipstick that goes on opaque on pigmented lips, you will need a couple of swipes to get that full color though. And don’t forget that this being a matte lippie, exfoliation is a must.

What I like about Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Demure 82V:
- A lovely pink shade
- Affordable
- Will flatter all skin tones
- Is widely available
What I don’t like about Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Demure 82V:
- The very fact that it rips my lips of moisture and elasticity leaving me with prune lips.

Talking about this lipstick, the first time I tried it on, it looked gorgeous. After a while say around 3hrs the lipstick started fading away slowly and steady. Most lipsticks usually leave either a beautiful stain behind or washes away. But our lady Ms. Demure did neither, she left behind one ugly stain leaving my lips parched of moisture and their suppleness. I was left with weird lips; I had a couple of co-workers even ask me if something was wrong with my lips. That weird it was. 
Look at this for visual proof. You see those fine lines? Scary right?
Will I repurchase Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick – Demure 82V!
Nope, I wouldn’t buy this again. But you can always try it and see it if it works well for you. Different lippies work differently with different women.
PS: Don’t lose hope, there’s a close match of the same lippie coming in very soon.

Its a lovely plumpy pink shade.. i knw many gals having and loving this shade..
However my VOV is pure pink…not mauve/plum..but i luv ur review.. n sad that this one leaves a weird tint on u..my brick o la n sultry pink leaves a nice fuchsia tint on me n doesnt looks weird at al
Maybe I shud try those shades..
I’m eyeing over-the-top and peach crush 
But am buying them only next month

Its with all colotbar velvett matte lipsticks .one needs good exfolation and a lip balm underneath.
True in a way, but even that dint work for me.. maybe I got the defective piece..

try taking pics daytime
with enough daylight in room, don’t opt for tubelight wali light or other lights, flash doesn’t works well for the minor details so that won’t work for cliking pix of products 
hope it helps 
and ha if u hv macro mode use it, or u can use the digital image stabilization mode it reduces any shake-ups and blurs 
and yes as i said good lighting is must

I usually click pics only in daylight and if am doing it at night, then i use the sunny mode. Now looks like the sunny mode has actually created havoc

I’ve been trying to do more or less the same thing.. Click them first, do a bit of editing and then the scripting.. Macro mode is a good tip, shall add it on to my list

Dimpal..i generally try to remember to scrub my lips while brushing my teeth but 95% of time i forget it therefore i keep lush lip scrubs with me and whenever i see them use for exfoliation

awesome review sandy! I hav d same prob with colorbar velvet mattes..the shades r so gorgeous but they suck out all d moisture from my lips
I swear Zee! Its a very very pretty color and I bought it cuz I loved it.. and then it sucked out – moisture and happiness from my lips.. too bad na?
The funny part is – I don’t have a case of dry lips at all..

i can so relate with u…i got a shade from this range and was so happy wid myself…i think it was the infamous sultry pink…but then i used it and it all went downhill from there….my lips r super dry and it make them luk like a wrinkled prune!

Amrin ..the shade is good…Dont worry abt it..jus dat after few hrs it settles in ur lips n leave a tint..which u might or might not like!
I love the shade.. Most of my lippies are pink based mauves or vice versa
. I tried it as soon as I reached home and wiped it off.. It has left its tint behind..
