Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Over the Top Review and Swatches

Today I am going to review Colorbar Velvet matte lipstick in the shade - Over the Top
This is my first purchase of the Colorbar Velvet matte range and I am so glad i did it.The shade Over the Top 1 is a earthy-coraly-pink colour.It is hard to describe exactly as it has a habit of looking different in different lights.If you see it in sun light it look more pinkish and if you see it in soft artificial light,it lean more toward the earthy-coralness and the pink is subdued.This shade will suit almost every skin tone be it worm or cool,fair or dusky.But on dusky beauties it will be more prominent,where as on medium-fair skin it will look a slightly deep version of MLBB. So,this lipstick will adopt itself to everyone

My Take on Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Over the Top
- Packaging-
The packaging of it is not quite impressive,rather plain and simple but sturdy enough.I have clumsily dropped it a few times while using in a hurry,but nothing is Broken Both the top and bottom parts of the lipstick lock perfectly, so won’t open accidentally in your bag. The Body is of shining metallic finishing which looks good,but the cheap transparent plastic cap will ruin its classiness. 
The see-through cap is good for quick view of lipstick.There is also a little sample of lipstick is attached at the bottom,so you can identify the shade easily

- Colour & Texture -
Though the lipstick is of Matte finish it is quite creamy in texture when applied to lips,so no dragging of lips like other matte lipsticks do(yes Lakme 9-5,i am pointing at you). After some time it settles as pure matt.

What I like about Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Over the Top 
- The shade “over the top” is not at what its name suggest.It is rather a very wearable and likeable shade which will suit many Indian skin-tone .
- The lipstick is creamy and glides easily but gives a satiny-matte finish.
- Single swipe will give a nearly opaque cover if you have slightly pigmented lips and for heavily pigmented lips 2 coats will suffice.
- This lipstick didn’t feather or bleed.So it can be used without a lip-liner.
- The most amazing thing about this lipstick is its staying power.I use it over an lip-balm and it stays for 6+ hours on my lips(the original colour lasts hrs. and after that it leaves behind a pinkish beautiful tint which lasts 2+ hrs.).The tint never leave your lips unless you clean it with a make-up remover.
- When it is used as a stain over a lipbalm,it provides just the natural innocent beauty to the lips,which is looks quite beautiful.
- This Velvet matte range is quite pocket friendly.
What I Don’t Like about Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Over the Top
- The biggest culprit is the staining of this lipstick.It is quite difficult to remove the stain . Vigorous rubbing is needed in order to completely clean it.
- This is not transfer-proof. If you drink it will stain the glass or cup. But very little amount is transfered so you still have your colour on.
- Dry lips girls will find it more drying,so before using it lip-preparation is needed.You have to exfoliate and moisturize your lips every time before using this lipstick. Or else it will settle in fine lines and make your lips looks more flaky and drier.
- The packaging could be made better for the price we are giving for it. At least the plastic cap should be changed ;(
Final Word-
This is a very good product if you can tolerate the staining problem.The drying part can be solved by using a good lip-balm underneath it.The lipstick is truly long-lasting hence will be a good choice for working women.When used as a stain on lips ,it will be subtle enough for College go-ers.So its a good value for money.Go for it girls,you won’t be disappointed.

Rice review gal!! I find the same cons with my demure one.. It stains the lips badly.. The tint looks horrible on me!!! The shade is awesome..

May be it depends on how moisturized your lips are.. My lips are chapped and dry always

Mine is also dry re.. jsut that i exfoliate n apply lipbalm n den apply colorbar liippies..

oh ! it looks like warm in the pics na Manya ?
Its more towards a neutral toned colour,so it will mainly depend on the pigmentation of lips,the lighting and the dress you are wearing it with.If i pair it with pink top it looks more pinkish and with brown/red outfit it looks more corally.
