Hey Ladies!
I’m back with a review of a different kind this time. After like four lipstick reviews and an overload of lip swatches, I thought I must break the stereotype and write something different. Looking through my shelf on what I can possibly review, my eyes fell upon this Herbal hair Cleanser which consist of shikakai the good old “fruit” for hair.(Read Home made shampoo recipe)
All of us here would have childhood memories of our Naani’s or Daadi’s applying homemade oil and giving us a good rigorous oil massage. This would be followed by a wash with Shikkakai Power either homemade or Store bought like Meera or Raaga. Those were the days, I tell you! Lustrous problem free hair!
Today, am reviewing one such awesome product which is very easy to use and effective at the same time.
About Vcare Shikkakai Paste:-
Vcare Shikkakai paste is a revolution in the Hair Care Industry combining the goodness of Shikkakai and the ease of use of the paste form. Completely removes dirt and dust. Nourishes your hair and makes your hair look healthy.
- Ingredients: Shikkakai, Fenugreek, Amla, Hibiscus, Preservatives etc.Point to be noted that it’s Sulphate and Parabens Free!
- Directions to use: Take sufficient quantity in hand, dilute with water and apply to your hair and scalp. Massage for 5minutes and then rinse with warm water.
- Price and Quantity: INR 150/- for 150 gms
My experience with Vcare Shikkakai Paste:-
If I had to sum up the review in one sentence, I would simply say – I love this! It has done a world of good to my dry and frizzy hair. But since I cannot write a one line review, I’ll elaborate on why I love this product as much.
First things first – it’s full of herbal goodness. Let’s not look at the preservatives for a little while ok? When I saw this in the departmental store, I picked it up without any second thoughts thanks to the ingredients. To be fair, it fared really well on my hair. It nourished it, washed out every single trace of oil. It lathered pretty well and after like two rinses my hair was squeaky clean, silky and smooth to touch. It did bring my dandruff under control.

I have used it as a normal hair cleanser(Read Lush cleanser review) and also as a hair pack. It is effective both ways. As a hair pack, I take say half a cup of this paste, add an egg, 2-3tbsps of curd and some lemon juice to it to bring it to slight liquid consistency. I apply this onto my hair and leave it on for around 45-60mins and then wash it off. I don’t use shampoo after this.
The best part is – I can go without a conditioner because this is a product meant for Enhanced Hair wash and conditioning.

What I like about Vcare Shikkakai Paste:-
- Stays true to its claims
- Full of Herbal ingredients
- Easy to use and very non messy
- Sulfate and Parabens free!
What I don’t like about Vcare Shikkakai Paste:-
To be honest, I can’t think of any except for availability.
Last words: This is a really good product and I’m very sure unless you are allergic to any of these ingredients it will suit you well. Please go ahead and buy it!

My mom actually always always swear by shikakai n reetaa…
since she has thick long jet black hair yes still jet black hair.. older women of mom’s age always keep asking my mom the secret to her lovely hair.. n she always advices them on shikakai n reeta… !
but the pain of making a paste of a reeta n all is messy..
thank God 4 dis product , we dont have to sit n make a paste or powder n jus run to this wen our hair wants a treat!

I can’t tell you much I loveeeee eet! 
It actually makes you hair manageable..

I actually can’t stop raving about it! If you have funny hair like mine, you’ll love it even more. The best thing is, it lathers 
It doesn;t give you enough lather to dance around, but lather good enough to clean off heavily oiled hair!

i have been using this shampoo for past 1 month and i’m continuing it. The hair growth vitalizer tat was a free product for the shampoo is also good and reduces hair fall.
does this contain preservatives
The ingredients list does mention preservatives, but I don’t there will be any harmful chemicals. Moreover, everything needs a bit of preservatives to keep the efficacy intact.

i have used the Jovees hair pack but i hate the mess which it creates .
Oh yess..I have t clean my hair AND the tub afterwards..
I have never tried the Jooves wala pack.. and Zee this is a cleanser which the **experimental** mind decided to use as a pack also

they make a similar pack at home with hibiscus flowers and fenugreek seeds.

Precisely the point.. They manufacture this in Pondicherry, so Chennai and remaining places are close by. I hope they stock it online soon.

Yeah Roopa, it worked on my frizzy hair.. it doesn’t claim to make it poker straight, but it definitely adds shine and bounce to your hair

I am using this shikkakai paste for the past 3 months and it is really good. My hair quality has improved a lot after using this. I am using one more product from Vcare called Hair growth vitalizer. It is a good replacement for hair oil. This is a non sticky alternative. It has controlled my hair fall greatly.
It was very difficult to get these products earlier. I used to buy them from some nilgris outlet. But now, the availability is OK. It is now available in many departmental stores. I don’t think, they have an online selling option. It is also not available in Big Bazaar, Reliance, More or any other retail groups.

When I visited V-Care 3 yrs back for dandruff prb, they said this paste is under R&D.. My SIL who used matrix shampoos for several months was suffering from severe hairfall. after using this for past three months, she says there is considerable decrease in hairfall.. i wl pick this for sure during my next vacation to chennai.. though i dont have much hairfall
I thought V-Care was setting up outlets in Chennai only recently, dint know they were around for 3yrs
