So I love stuff which is more true to nature and free of chemicals, especially parabens. A few days ago, I had to take part in a very controversial topic about animal testing (good versus evil) and my take was pretty shady, since my opinion is very two-way too. On one hand, I totally believe that animals have done nothing wrong and should not be tested upon, but, on the other hand, I also believe that there will be lives sacrificed for the betterment of others…. And animals, unfortunately, are the “others” here.

However, I want to tell you something today.
I will stick to more animal tested products in the future, I think.
Let me introduce you to the product which has done something to my skin. I was pretty excited to try it out, as I am an herbal-products lover girl. The times I have bought products off Fabindia, Khadi and Akansha (local brand, but great) is too many to count, and I recently hauled in a few more too.

My Take on Eco Essentials Organic Turmeric Body Scrub Cake
This is one product which had SUCH potentials. Indeed, when I read the ingredients list, I was overjoyed to see a huge array of natural stuff. Like, green gram, virgin coconut oil and stuff which were ideal for babies! And, the next thing I loved, was the packaging. So simple. So compact. So Organic.
So I used it. I peeled off the organic shell-like cover, unwrapped the waxed paper.
And unwrapped this.
Doesn’t look very nice, my heart said. Actually… it looks like —
Shut up! My brain retorted, Its Organic! It doesn’t need to look nice.
So I ran to the bathroom with the bar, and decided to take a bath.
And I scrubbed and scrubbed, and this started to show its true colors.
Never have I seen something soap-free show a lather which was like this. Maybe, maybe there was some soap here.
Nevermind, my mind said, proceed with the rest of the body. So I did.
Soon, the top layer of the soap was removed to reveal a layer of what only can be called sandy particles stuck to the soap which made my skin itch when I scrubbed.
Good God! I can feel my skin clearing up as I bathe! God bless you, Organic Soap!
Very soon, the beautiful bubble burst. Right after I’d rinsed off and come out of the bath.
The first sign that all was not really well was the dryness of my skin. I ran to my Johnson and Johnson baby bedtime lotion to moisturize.
Then came the itch.
All of a sudden, there were tiny itchy scratchy things springing up my body, and the next ten minutes I spent … well, let’s not talk about it.
So, to sum up, I don’t think I qualify for writing this review any further, because I have a deep seated issue against this product. This product has done my skin quite a good bit of harm, and yes, the company claimed to be nature-loving, herbal and all. BTW, it also did a good bit of harm to my unsuspecting sister and mother too, so I am pretty much negative about this product.
