Nowadays, I am seeing many of these total face cleanups from different brands coming up and claiming to make you fair within minutes. Although I am not much of a believer, I was taken in by the claims made by Nivea and I bought one of these to see how they fared.
Nivea claims that this product works on different issues of your skin. It can be used as a scrub, a face wash, a mask, an oil remover and a spot corrector. I have been using it for the last one month, and here is my take on it.
- Price: 99/-
- Quantity: 50 ml.
I bought the small size to see what the fuss was all about. The packaging is simply done, with a flip top which ensures hygiene. On opening, the consistency of the product is like foam toothpaste. The first thing I noted was the fragrance. Okay, I am a sucker for the scent of Nivea products, and this one reminded me of something which I still cannot identify, yet the smell is really really like and I would want to go back to this just for it.
The product is white in color with tiny bright blue granules in it. I have used it in all five manners – face wash, face scrub, pack, spot corrector, oil remover. I have to be fair here. Over the first week I used it as a pack/scrub (where I was too lazy to scrub sometimes, and sometimes I did scrub with it). The product left my skin quite nicely glowing, and the glow lasted me for an hour or so. The smell did linger, and I liked it. I noted that I did not use a face cream afterwards, but still this did not dry my skin out, and the best thing is, it is not drying at all to my skin although it is supposed to control oil.
Which brings us to the next observation. This does work well as a spot corrector. I have often used this on a spot, left it for about 10 minutes or so, and have seen the spot lighten up a bit. As a mask, this is also quite soothing with a bit of a tingly sensation going on when I apply it.
I would say the glow is temporary, and in the long run I do not see much change to my skin, but it is a nice product which actually is a decent face wash and scrub, and does give my skin a bit of a glow. Also, the oil control part is right. This leaves my skin quite hydrated but at the same time mattes it a bit too. It is now available in most places and the price is quite reasonable.
Pros of Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup:-
- Easy to carry packaging
- Good face wash and scrub
- Decent face pack
- Controls oil
- Gives my face a temporary glow
Cons of Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup:
- No permanent changes to the skin noted
Overall, I would perhaps try out similar products, but this remains in my repurchase list.
