Faces have come up with their brand new Ultime Pro range, and this range specializes in long-lasting professional makeup. The Ultime Pro Longwear range is definitely worth checking into, and one of the first things I liked was the matte lipsticks. As you guys know, I have a thing for lipsticks, and this one caught my eyes with the name and packaging, which was very sleek and sexy. The colors are available at some major shops across India and at Medplusbeauty.com at retail price.
As you can see, the black packaging with the name of the brand and range written in muted, understated silver, makes this package one of the bests from the brand. In fact, I think this packaging is quite similar to another brand which has a range of palettes and colors that speak of elegance, and the brand embodies all that is “sleek” (wink wink, nudge nudge). A matte, almost pen-like body makes it possible for me to carry this virtually anywhere without any mishap.
Quantity: 2.5 gm.
On opening, the color is a lovely shade of reddish coral which looks darker than it is. The lipstick does not have any fragrance in it, however, after inhaling a few times, I detected a faint, crayon-like smell, which is very faint, so not going to be a problem for those who do not like fragrant lipsticks or are sensitive to smell. It glides on pretty easily, and it takes about a couple of minutes to set in. Once that happens, the color reminds me of a ripe papaya for some reason… however, I have realized that without exfoliating my lips, application is not a good idea as this lipstick can get drying. It does not bleed at all, and after the first few minutes, it settles on the lips, sealing off moisture effectively. I have checked by drinking from cold water glasses, and the transfer is absolutely minimum, to say the very least.
Those of you who have got the Maybelline Superstay Lipstick, you should know that this is the closest to that brand, feel-wise. However, unlike the other brand, this one has a bad tendency of settling in my lip lines. That is a big turn-off for me, as this will mean that people with dry lips will suffer. The price of the product I feel is slightly over the top. I mean 699/- for a color which is only 2.5 gram is sort of excessive to me. I would have preferred if the color was priced around 400-500/- or less. The staying power is about 4-5 hours, but this one goes away if I eat a full meal. Also, it flakes after three hours or so, retouch is thus necessary.
