I swear I love a good nail polish and when Faces came up with their new Ultime Pro range I was pretty eager to see how they fared. Although I must say that the price of the new products are on the higher end (as you guys noted from the previous post, and wailed as well!), but I have to say this out loud – this nail polish is worth checking out.
- Quantity: 9.8 ml.
- Price: 399/-
My Take on Faces Ultime Pro Nail Lacquer Shade 22 Champagne Shower:-
Compared to a lot of other nail colors as well as its own range where the average nail polish is priced around 100-200 rupees, 399/- might sound a lot, but I have to say this out loud: this nail polish has won me over. The first thing you would note is the packaging, which is a muted steel and glass affair, very classy, to say the very least. Twist the cap open and you would be hit by a mild alcoholic scent, although the color itself has no lingering scent left behind. The nail polish brush is average in size, making it easy for the user to color the slightly trickier sides of the nails. Personally I felt this was perfect for me to use as I could paint my nails quite easily.
The color is a muted antique gold, quite similar to Maybelline’s Bad to the Bronze. The closest compatriot to this color nail paint wise would be Avon’s Simply Pretty color Champagne Shimmer, and I did think that this color is far better than that when it comes to opacity. The application is very even, and one coat of Champagne shower gave me opaque coverage. That is one of the things I absolutely love about this particular color.
I love the fact that this color actually dries up within a minute or so when you apply it once. The second coat is slightly longer in drying, but it actually dries in about 2-3 minutes, which makes this one of the fastest drying nail paints I have worn till date. I am pretty impressed by that.
The color chipped on the third day when I wore just one coat and nothing else, so staying power is strictly okay. However, worn with a top coat, this color lasted me about 8 days. So I will have to say that the lasting power is pretty great. In the swatches I have only applied one coat, and you can see how opaque the color is. It can be easily removed with a makeup remover, and it does not leave my nails yellow, like many other colors do.
What I like about Faces Ultime Pro Nail Lacquer Shade 22 Champagne Shower:-
- Great color
- Easy application
- No discernible smell
- Dries fast
- Does not stain my nails yellow
What I don’t like about Faces Ultime Pro Nail Lacquer Shade 22 Champagne Shower:-
Verdict: I will check out other colors in this range. Also their new Magnetic nail colors.
