I love lavender. It’s a lovely color, and what’s very important is that it looks good on my skin. A few days ago, I was berated by a friend for not checking out Lotus cosmetics, so I decided to give this nail polish a whirl. Although I sort of hate the packaging (and think that is really uncool), I decided to look deep beyond the surface and give them a second glance.
Quantity: 8 ml
These are toluene and DPB free, so, quite healthy for your nails. I saw Lavender Love and I thought … ooh lavender. I came back home, and checked out my Maybelline nailpolish in Equilibrista (reviewed before!) and realized… oh hi genius, the color’s almost the same. This shade is perhaps a couple of shades lighter than that one.
However, did that stop me from applying this immediately and dancing around the room?
The application was simple – with the long handle and a flat brush which does not spread much, application was a breeze. The product is not too runny or too gloopy, as Goldilocks in The Three Bears’ story would say, “Just Right”! I decided to apply two coats, because one coat was too streaky, and three was perfect. I let the first coat dry for 5 minutes before I applied the second, and all was well in my side of the world. The second coat took about 8-9 minutes to dry, but as it dried opaque I was left with pretty nails.
After application, I ran the color through my acid test – washing dishes. The color did not chip or budge and stayed on my nails perfectly. It does start chip after 3-4 days or so, but then again, so does most nail paints, some much more expensive than this.
I love the color, and generally apply this with some glittery on top.
What I like about Lotus Color Dew Nail Enamel in Lavender Love?
- Nice applicator
- Nice color
- Stays for 4 days or so without chipping
- Very reasonably priced
- Toluene and DPB Free
What I don’t like about Lotus Color Dew Nail Enamel in Lavender Love:
- Needs two coats to not be streaky
- Boring packaging
Honestly Lotus, do something about the packaging… me no like! But do keep the applicator the same. It is good and controllable!
