I loooveeee blushes!!!
Yes! This is my first review after a long break and that’s my opening line….just incase anyone forgot!
This is one of the products for which I give thanks to Shwe…I recall finding out this collection had launched and Whatsapped Shwe about it..She immediately volunteered to pick up something if I wanted and I was like, ‘Neki and pooch pooch???’ One thing led to another and she sent me this gorgeous MSF from the Apres Chic Collection long with Stereo Rose which she has reviewed here.
Porcelain Pink is described as ‘a soft pinky coral with gold veining.’ However I doubt it would look coral on Indian skin. On my skin, its more of a pale pink with tiny rose-gold shimmers. It looks gorgeous in the pan and equally beautiful when applied.
It has the usual MSF packaging which is functional since the clear front panel makes it easy to identify the shade if you have many. It does have a fair bit of fallout but since I love the shade and what it does for my skin, I can let that go
For skintones below NC25 this would work as a blush whereas for skintones above that it would be more of a highlighter. What sets this apart from a normal highlighter you ask? Well, its the rose gold sheen! All highlighters either have a silvery or gold sheen but this one has a rose-gold/champagne sheen which adds that healthy glow to the skin and adds that Oomph we all crave. I personally love highlighters and had gotten bored after using the usual run of the mill highlighters.
Price: A whooping 1650INR for 9gms of product. (Y MAC Y? Wud it kill you to sell half the amount for half the price?? )
It has a decent staying power of about 6hrs although on my combi skin, the shimmer fades in about 4hrs or so leaving my skin with a pearly sheen for another 2 to 3hrs.
Here’s how it looks on me..Pls forgive the ungroomed brows..The previous salon visit left me with 2 differently shaped brows and hence I’m letting them grow out for a month..
I had some trouble capturing the true shade on camera. The pics do show the sheen but not the rose gold shimmer which I assure you very much there.
Do I love it? Yes! I have never come across a highlighter with a rose-gold sheen and which doesn’t have the prospect of making me look like a clown. I find no cons for this product other than the cost and the hearty wish that MAC would consider packaging these in smaller quantities for a lesser price….
