After using two Maybelline compacts I wanted to switch to a new one, not that I had any issues with it but because I wanted to try new products and get rid of looking at the same ones repeatedly which is not at all exciting. Since I am on a Rimmel London search spree, this time I bought a compact powder from them. The thing that gets me most excited with Rimmel London is that most of their products say “Stay Matte” which is something that my skin depends on. I have oily/combination skin… better I call it seasonal. Hence, I make sure I buy stuff that (at least say) keeps skin matte.
Another thing that gravitates me towards Rimmel London products is that they are super affordable (I wonder how?) and yet quite good quality wise. I do not want to name but there are plenty of Indian and few other brands that are way expensive and still bad quality.

My experience with RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER #005 Silky Beige:
Packaging – This area needs improvement. This is where Rimmel London lacks in most of its products. They come without any seal. And – this particular product feels so light and plastic-y especially the top clear lid which I am scared will bread/crack very soon. There is no mirror or the applicator.
The shade is perfect for me. The powder is very finely milled and is very smooth. It sets the makeup very well. Definitely helps in keeping me matte so I apply very less initially right after makeup so it does not give me a dried up look. It is also good while touch ups as it soaks the excess oil and holds makeup for longer. It gives way more than the quality a product under Rs. 200 would ever give.
What I like about RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER #005 Silky Beige:-
- Very fine and smooth.
- Controls shine.
- Contains natural minerals.
What I do not like much about RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER #005 Silky Beige:-
- Cheap packaging.
- Does not come sealed.
Will I repurchase this: Yes, I do not look for much in a compact except that it does not look chalky, sets my make up well and for long and this one does it absolutely perfect.
Will I recommend it to you?: Definitely, it’s a great steal.
