Hi all, MAC has recently launched paint pots in the Prolongwear formula. I was a little skeptical about them as MAC paint pots were long-lasting anyway.. so why the new formula and the higher price tag? But It was love at first swatch . Read on to know why.
What MAC says about Paintpots?
A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.
My take on MAC Prolongwear Paint Pot in Let Me Pop:-
Mac describes Let Me Pop as frosted light copper. The description is bang on.This shade was initially launched with the Cham-Pale collection in 2011 and has been made permanent now. The colour is a beautiful light copper with shimmer. Now when I say shimmer, you may think that this will be restricted to evenings only.. well no ! It works beautifully in the day time as a light wash on of colour with a slight shimmer that actually looks very pretty in the sunlight. As a base,it makes the pearl finish and shimmer shadows pop.In my opinion, this is suitable for both day and night wear. During the day, apply with a light hand and blend. The swatch below is two swipes. The texture is absolutely mind blowing. It is way softer than the regular paint pots and easier to blend as well. They blend like a dream and the shade itself is so pretty that I prefer to wear it alone instead of as a base.It has become my go to eyeshadow everyday . The swatch below is one swipe. The packaging is whopping 5 gms of product and one pot will last you forever. Paintpots dont dry up easily as I have some that are about two years old and still as soft as the day I got them. However, ensure that to close it tightly after every use. Pigmentation is fantastic. For a light shade, I really did not think that they would be so good. The colour can be built up and for nigh looks its best to use this a base for gold smokey eye looks. Also, this is a perfect wash of colour for our heavy ethnic garments, keeping in mind the fast approaching festive season. The staying power is where this wins! It stays true to the claim of 12 hours and then some! Once set,you will need a good makeup remover to take this off.The best part is that the shimmer doesnt travel across the face and stays put. Below are EOTD’s using just the paint pot and eyeliner in different lights. You can see that even in the day it doesn’t look OTT Summing it up
