My take on the Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquers :
I recently picked 4 shades from this collection named Wine & Dine, Buried treasure (both shimmery/metallic) and Coral craze & Hooked on pink (both matte). The lovely colors added with the great staying power and an unbeatable price surely makes them one of the best in their category.
Discussing all the 4 (shade & texture) one by one:
Maybelline Nail Polish – Hooked on Pink:
It is definitely the prettiest pink in my makeup stash right now and also my favourite out of the 4 colors. It is a bright blue toned pink. The color is totally festive and would definitely suit everyone.
The texture is amazing. One coat is all you need to cover up your nails that stay bright and glossy for 4 days on a go.
Maybelline Nail Polish Coral Craze:
This color is quite unique in its own way and is a true coral shade. It is not very bright and can be easily worn for a toned down formal look. The shade has medium pigmentation and 2 coats are all you need to get the desired shade. This color would easily look good on fair to medium skin tone.
Maybelline Nail Polish – Buried Treasure:
This is a dirty grey color with golden shimmers. Again a different shade not generally seen in other brands. Quite pigmented so a single layer goes ok still I prefer 2 coats for getting a totally opaque finish. The shimmers add to the beauty of the otherwise dull color and can be worn easily. I love wearing this shade on my toe nails.
Wine & Dine: Quite a popular color in this category. A truly dark gothic looking shade that would compliment ever skin tone easily. This is dark wine shade again with golden shimmers that give it a metallic sheen.
Texture wise, this shade is my least favourite. It is too watery and a single coat looks pathetic. 2-3 coats are necessary for getting the true beauty of the color.
Rest all these 4 shades take more than a minute to dry off completely. They stay put for 5 days at a stretch with the slightest of fading from the tips. So 2 coats of this nail paint without any top/base coat can easily last you for a week. The applicator brush provided is good and does its job well.
What I like about the Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquers :
- Vast shade selection
- Great staying power
- 2 coats of the nail colors give the desired results.
- Cute packaging
- Nice brush applicator provided.
- Good texture that spreads easily and doesn’t drip.
- First coat dries off pretty quickly.
- Easily available.
What I don’t like about the Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquers :
- Texture of few metallic nail paints is too sheer.
The brush applicator
Ratings: I would give the different shades different ratings.
Hooked on pink: 5/5
Coral craze and Buried Treasure: 4.5/5
Wine & Dine: 4/5
Grab a few of these for sure if you are a hoarder of nail paints. They are too good for the price you pay for them.
And here they are, all the 4 for u together . Hope you like the post.
