I love my eye shadows..I really do..but ever since having a baby its become kinda tough to find the time for elaborate makeup and i find myself hunting for shortcuts and quick fixes. Paintpots and color tattoos for me are the ultimate quick fixes to eye makeup when i dont have the time to do much and yet want that perfect hint of color on my lids to look good. I picked this paintpot called Frozen Violet from the Pro Longwear Paint pot collection which released last year and think this is one of the best purchases of the year!
Texture: Like most paintpots, this has a very smooth texture. Even tho it has silver shimmers in it, its not gritty at all.however, there is a bit of silver fallout visible after applying this. It sets quickly and one has to work fast with this one.
Pigmentation: Its a sheer shade which can be built up to look almost opaque. In the pic below, i’ve applied 2 layers of this paintpot and then used MAC Cranberry in the crease. You can see that it doesnt look like a thick layer has been applied and yet is almost opaque.
Staying Power: My lids are not oily or anything and this stays on for about 7hrs without budging. I haven’t worn this for more than 7hrs tho; so i wouldnt be able to judge if it stays longer.
Pair it with: You can use this as a base and layer with shades like MAC Stars n Rockets for an ethereal look or with MAC Shale for a more casual look. This can even be worn alone or as the all-over lid shade with a crease shade like MAC Cranberry or MAC Sketch.
Final Verdict: I love how versatile this is. In a hurry I always tend to just apply this on my lids, use a liner and run out the door and this is perfect for that. Many bases including the color tattoos tend to collect in my crease after a while which isnt the case with this paintpot. It stay put and doesnt budge an inch! These paint pots are permanent now I think and you should definitely check them out!
