I love my hairs…yes Iam starting this post with self boosting words J but yes I love my hairs. They are like low maintenance blessing for me. As you all must be aware by now that I have super oily skin, and so are my tresses. They are oily hence easily manageable..just a hair wash every second day (of course magical hair oil champi once a week)and tada my hair care regime is done. Sometimes I feel guilty that the care I give to my skin like applying face packs or different toner, moisturizers, serum etc on one hand and doing nothing special for my hairs on another. But perhaps Iam too lazy to apply hair mask/ packs or to go for some hair spa etc. so I always ensure to get good quality products for my hairs. Whereas I have custom made oil for my hairs, am constantly in search of good shampoos so as to clean my hairs. I never stick to one particular shampoo and keep on switching between different brands so as to get a product that will effectively work for me. Recently after transfer of my husband to a new city I started experiencing hair fall problem, so I started hunting for a shampoo with anti hair fall claims. When I hit mall one day for my regular grocery shopping I came across Dove Damage Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo which claims to prevent hairfall, so lets see what is my opinion about this shampoo.

- Then apply the shampoo, gently massaging it all over your hair from the roots to the tips.
- Leave the shampoo on your hair for a couple of minutes and then rinse it off completely.
- For best results, use Dove Hair Fall Rescue Conditioner after every wash.
Price and Quantity: I got 375 ml.of product for Rs.235/-
Texture: The texture of the shampoo is thick and creamy lotion like. Colour of this shampoo is pearly white and smell is very mild and pleasant, to put it in simple words- it smells sweetly .
Packaging: The shampoo comes in a white sturdy plastic bottle with flip cap open; the flip cap is having a hole which dispenses just the right amount of product.
My take on Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo:
The Shampoo spreads and lathers very well and also cleanses hairs very well. As I’ve already mentioned that the shampoo really smells wonderfully- after washing also the smell linger on for long- like for a day which really feels nice. After washing my hairs- not only my hairs feel clean but also they feel soft and easily manageable. However it flattens my hairs and make it look a bit oily after a day or so after washing, which means I have to use it every day even in this cold weather also. It is ok now a days but I think that it will be a problem once summer arrives as in summers sebaceous glands at my scalp gets hyper active and secrets oil like anything which means this will not be a suitable choice in summers as it will make my hair look more flattened and may be oily too .
Now coming to hair fall part. I am using this since last 2 months and I dont think that there is any significant reduction in my hair fall problem. Iam losing my hairs more or less at the same speed what it was earlier i.e. prior to using this shampoo. I think it is a mild shampoo which nicely cleanses the hair but probably is not an effective product to stop hair fall.
What I like about Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo:
- A mild shampoo.
- It is easily available.
- Sturdy, hygienic packaging that dispenses just the right amount of product.
- Cleanses hair nicely.
- Post washing, my hair feels soft and more manageable.
- Smells great, the fragrance linger on for quite some time.
- Spreads and lathers very well.
- Can be rinsed easily- you need not waste buckets of water to get rid of slippery feeling.
What I dont like about Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo:
- Hair appears weirdly flat after some time post wash.
- No reduction in hairfall. I don’t think it has reduced by even 1% leave alone the claim of reducing it by 98%.
- Price: 5/5
- Packaging: 4.5/5
- Performance: 3/5
- Fragrance: 5/5
- Hairfall reduction claim: 1/5
So overall 3.85 on a scale of 5.
Shall I recommend it to you?
Yes if you are looking for a mild shampoo which gently and nicely cleanses your hairs. No if you are in a need for a shampoo which will control your hairfall problem.
