Like all kids I have had an inclination towards lipbalms since the day I was born. The little tubs and tubes that come in vibrant colours look so enticing that I can’t help but be lured by their siren call, despite their somewhat tall claims. All lipbalms are a tad gimmicky, in my humble opinion.
I am yet to come across a lipbalm that simply claims to hydrate for a short while till reapplication is required, essentially what every lipbalm actually does.

My take on Khadi Herbal Lip Balm Chocolate:
This comes in the traditional tub style packaging of lipbalms that I really truly hate. It’s unhygienic and makes application a huge mess. But nevertheless, I have taken to using this product before bed because of this factor. It also lacks SPF that is a huge requirement for a sun allergic person like me, so before bed time it is!
The packaging of the product is travel safe, even if it’s a tad flimsy. It is prone to cracking but not that quick. Seeing as it contains shea butter it is prone to melting in summer months, so it’s best to store in a cool place.
It lasts a mere 2-3 hours, after which reapplication is required but it’s pretty nice for some TLC for lips beneath lipsticks and the like. It can be used in place of traditional Vaseline, thanks to it’s all natural (active) ingredient list.
What I like about Khadi Herbal Lip Balm Chocolate:
- Looks a tad tinted
- Huge quantity for the price point
- Smells delicious
- Not sticky at all
- Travel safe packaging
What I don’t like about Khadi Herbal Lip Balm Chocolate:
- Staying time is very low; a mere 1-2 hours
- Not pigmented (as such)
- Only key ingredient list is available
- Availability may be a problem
- Lipbalm tubs are unhygienic
- No SPF
- The packaging can crack easily
Would I repurchase? Nope! I would pick something up with SPF
Would I recommend it to friends? Maybe so, it isn’t too bad a product if you have no problems with the lack of SPF.
