My experience with Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 6:
Having dry lips, I always love anything creamy or balmy in texture so the texture was the first attraction for me in these lip polishes. These are like creamy lipsticks, neither a gloss nor a full opaque lipstick. I love its thick consistency; I always prefer these over sheer lip glosses.
There are so many shades in this range -pinks, mauves, nude ones, one red and then this one. This is a berry shade. I haven’t bought this kind of a shade before thinking it would be too dark or bold but since this one was in cream consistency there was a thought in my mind that if it turned out dark I could tone it down by applying a sheer layer. Then when I brought it home and tried- it looked very pretty- a shade that instantly brought glow to my face. I club it with black kohled eyes but for the swatches I am wearing nothing on the face but this lip cream. This is a full on evening glam lip shade. It does not contain any shimmer which is another plus point for me as I don’t like shimmers in my lip products.
Another good thing is that the applicator is very impressive. It is called the ‘Angora brush’ by Maybelline. Its shape and surface eases even application on the lips and feels very soft and cushiony kind. I like this applicator better than the straight looking applicator that comes in most of the lip glosses.
Staying power is also pretty good for this particular shade. After some time of application it stains the lips (in a good way) and even if you eat something and it transfers, the color still remains. Wear a similar shade lip liner all over the lip and wear this on top for even longer staying power. It does not have any offending smell associated with itself.
Overall, this particular shade is a complete love for me; pretty berry shade, creamy texture, and applicator everything is superb. Other lighter shade may not remain for long and transfer as most of the creamy lipcolors do.
P.S. Refer the hand swatch for shade identification; the face pic is taken in sunlight and the lip color appears to be a bit lighter than what it is in reality.
What I like about Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 6:
- The pretty berry shade.
- Awesome creamy texture; treat for dry lips.
- Thoughtful applicator.
- No offensive smell.
- Variety of shades.
- Reasonable pricing.
- Attractive packaging.
- Lip color stains the lips in a good way and does not vanish completely on eating or drinking something.
What I don’t like about Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 6:
- Other shades from this range do not stay for long.
Until next time, take care!
