Another NARS Lipstick for you and this is from the Satin Finish range, you have seen my reviews with sheer and semi matte formula earlier and I hope you like this colour – it’s not red , orange or fuchsia , but trust me this is universally flattering shade and will definitely interest you .

My experience with NARS Satin Lipstick Afghan Red:
Shade – AFGHAN RED is described as Rich Garnet, on my medium to dark skin tone it is not GARNET but a raspberry rosy pink shade, very flattering on warm skin tone and so easy to sport in day time and still not looks over the top. I always go back to this colour when I want something subtle but still not dull and blah.
Texture – it s from SATN FINISH range , little more pigmented then sheer finish and less intense then semi matte , very close to MAC Satin finish but very light weight and easy to layer . These are not moisturizing nor overly drying; once it wears off I do find the lips need a little balm or pampering but not something which is required immediately.
Pigmentation – I have to layer it twice or thrice to get fully opaque finish, in single layer it looks more like a stain. They are pigmented but do need a little layering, once you have two layers they are fully opaque and cover every bit of corner of my lips.
Staying power – I get 3 plus hrs of wear if I layer it two three times else in one layer it just fades in an hr or two. I feel the chunk of amount we are paying a little more staying power could have added some brownie points to this already amazing shade .
What I like about NARS Satin Lipstick Afghan Red:
- The texture is light weight and creamy and glides easily and that is consistent in every shade I tried from NARS.
- The shade will look beautiful on all skin tones and so easy to wear kinds.
- They are very creamy but never bleed or settle in fine lines.
What I don’t like about NARS Satin Lipstick Afghan Red:
- The staying power is very low considering the price you are paying for.
Ratings – 4/5
I adore this shade and have tried 4 shades out of 12 from Satin finish range; they are all consistent and beautiful on lips. The only con I find is staying power, their semi matte range is excellent and if you are on I can share some more shades from their semi matte finish.
