Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy Review, Swatches & FOTD – Hey all beauty geeks!!! I have been a lipstick lover all my life. Matte texture is my weakness and I love to collect all the bright colors. Where I may have 100+ lipsticks, I have only 5 lip glosses. Yup, I am loyal to my lipsticks. Till date, I have never even looked at the displays of glosses, lipstains and other lip products other than lipsticks. However, this changed when I laid my eyes on Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Collection. There was something about these brightly colored, chubby lip crayons that made me, for the first time, buy a lip color other than a lipstick. Read on further on know could these lip balm convert a lipstick snob like me.

My take on Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy :
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy is a bubblegum pink color that has a lot of blue undertones to it. The actual color is more cool toned compared to the color on the packaging. The finish on the lips is a satin-matte. This lip balm requires you to exfoliate your lips and apply a moisturizing lip balm underneath it.
However, even after vigorous exfoliation, this emphasized the lines and the dry patches on my lips. (Please excuse my dry lips while looking at the lip swatch).
Texture: The balm applies smoothly and feels velvety on the lips. But it does not look moisturizing on the lips. If you can understand the contradiction
Pigmentation: Amazing. The color is really intense and applies well in just one swipe. You can further build it up for a bold look.
Staying Power: Stays for long time and wears down as a stain after 4-5 hours.
Packaging: Cute chubby crayons with twist-ups.
Smell: Have a peppermint smell.
What I like about Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy:
- Bright pink color!!!
- Satin-matte finish.
- Lasts for 4 hours.
- Easy to apply and travel with.
- Velvety feel on the lips.
- Cool crayons packaging .
What I do not like about Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy:
- Enhances the dry patches on the lips.
- Creases in my lips.
- Need to apply lip scrub and moisturizing balm before application.
- May wash out deeper skin tones.
- Unavailability in India.
I love the intense color and the way it brightens my skin. However, it does make my lips look chappy and super dry. I may try another color in the collection. If you have smooth lips, go ahead and buy it.
And yes, I still prefer my lipsticks anytime
