Graphic liner looks have taken the fashion world by storm! Not only are they attention grabbing, they appeal to the creative side of not only the artist but also the viewer. This look is something that I have wanted to replicate, albeit on a smaller scale.
The product I am now going to review is so attention grabbing thanks to its colour, that even incorporating it in a very simple graphic liner look turns heads like none other.

My take on the e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease
While graphic liner has caught my fancy at this moment, I am more of a emerald green/black liner person generally. So picking something up with teal in the name was completely out of my comfort zone. But boy! I am glad I did!
This liner lives up to all that one expects from a gel liner. It lasts a good 4-5 hours on my lids, and upto 4 hours on my lower lash line. For all I know, it could last longer but I have only ever worn this look for 4-5 hours at a stretch.
The colour is a beautiful metallic one that leans more towards turquoise in most lighting, as opposed to teal. But it’s a mere difference of tonality that most people don’t even notice.
One of the biggest flaws of gel liners are that they may dry very fast, just sitting around. But I have had this product for over a year and a half and it’s still alive and kicking. Please note though that I am very conscious to store this inverted to prevent any occupational hazards of drying up.
But the formula does have its flaws. It applies patchily if you decide to use it as a eyeshadow base, it also has no one stroke opacity so you need to layer the colour multiple times for it to form a completely smooth line.
What I like about The e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease:
- Travel safe packaging
- Unique colour
- Long lasting
- Easy to remove
- ELF products are not tested on animals
- Can be used as a graphic liner for editorial worthy looks
- I have had this liner for over a year and a half, it still hasn’t dried out
What I dislike about The e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease:
- No one stroke opacity
- Applies patchily over a large area
- Metallic finish makes this already bold colour a little OTT
- Application is a hassle because the angled brush that comes with this product is too tiny
- Not easily available in India
- Needs to be stored inverted to prevent drying out
- Traditionally, glass containers are better than plastic to increase the life of gel liners
Would I repurchase The e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease?
I have bought nearly all the colours in this range, but I don’t think I’ll need to repurchase this liner; a little does go a long way for this snazzy bunny!
Would I recommend The e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease to friends?
For the brave hearted ones who won’t shrink at the sight of such a bold colour? Wholeheartedly so!
