Hey all beauty geeks!!! Hope alls well with everyone. As a makeup addict, we all have our weaknesses. Mine is love for BRIGHT shade of matte lipsticks. However, as we all know, just love is not enough these days I have really dry and chapped lips that make life difficult for me. At times, beautiful lipsticks have looked so horrible on me, that I have even considered to stop wearing lipsticks. OK I am kidding. That can’t happen. ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator is one of the many products that I bought to ‘better’ my lips so that I can fearlessly wear the brightEST shades of lipsticks.

My take on ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator:
Though I am a fan of DIYs, but at times, lack of time and sheer laziness prevent me to make yummy lip scrubs. These are the days when I use my ELF Lip Exfoliator. The exfoliator is so convenient rather than mixing brown sugar, honey and olive oil. I just have to apply it like a lipstick and exfoliate for few minutes. And BANG I have super smooth lips.
The first time I used the exfoliator, however, I had to patiently wait for the first layer of the balm to dissolve so that ‘scrubby’ particles can do their work. And one also has to very careful with the stick. Don’t expose a large part of the stick as it may break.
Texture: The lip exfoliator is shaped like a lipstick. It is a solid scrub and not at all soft as one would expect it to be. You can clearly see the beads embedded in the stick. Initially, the stick does not feel rough on the lips but after few uses, you can feel the scrubby particles. This might happen as the lip balm may dry.
Performance: The lip exfoliator does leave the lips feeling smooth and gets rid of the dry skin. However, it does not moisturize the lips and you invariably have to use a conditioning lip balm post the exfoliation. Also, too much exfoliation or applying more pressure while using the lip scrub can scratch your lips.
Taste: Tastes and smells of vanilla and you might start licking it off your lips.
Packaging: The lip exfoliator comes in a handy lipstick packaging. It looks sleek and expensive. It is so easy to carry around compared to a pot of expensive sugar scrub.
What I like about ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator:
- Very convenient lip scrub.
- Does a decent job to smoothen lips.
- Gets rid of the flakey skin.
- Quick fix for late mornings.
- Sleek and handy packaging.
- Tastes delicious.
- Cruelty free.
What I do not like about ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator:
- May feel rough on the lips after few uses.
- Does not moisturize the lips at all.
- Stick may break if applied with a pressure.
- May dry out after sometime.
- May hurt/wound the lips if not used gently.
- Unavailability in India.
Final Impression: I loved the lip scrub the first time I used it. The subsequent applications were, however, not that impressive. Since it is the only one of its kind and damn cheap, I do recommend it and will even buy more for first few good applications.
