All of us love kajal/kohl don’t we? The way it defines the eyes by adding precision to it is something all of us absolutely adore. But one major issue all of us face (no matter what brand it is or how expensive it is) is that when applied on the waterline never stays there for more than 3-4 hours after which it starts smudging and giving us the rightly named raccoon eyes.
So I got the L’Oreal kohl minerals powder kajal a few months back which I used to layer the my existing layer of kajal on the waterline to make it appear thicker and darker. While aiming at making it look more pigmented, I accomplished something which I found extremely useful, something which I have been dying to achieve all these years.
The primary reason for the kajal in your waterline to spread and smudge is because of the moisture in your eyes. If you had a layer to absorb the moisture, it would stop the smudging. So I realized the powder kohl was basically absorbing all the moisture from my eyes keeping the kajal on the waterline intact, right at its place. This was a great revelation to me so instead of keeping it to myself I wanted to share it with all the readers. I have been following this process for almost a year now and I have had no problems of any sort.
- Your everyday eyeliner, the ones you use on your waterline.
- Powder eyeliner or eye shadow powder.
- Angled eyeliner brush.
Make sure the products are of good quality. This is just to ensure the safety of your eyes. I use the Maybelline gel liner and the L’Oreal kohl minerals kohl powder. The L’Oreal kohl came with an angled brush which is what I use and I find it super convenient. I also use the chamber powder eye shadow occasionally.
- Apply the regular liner on to your waterline.
- Using the angled brush dab some of the powdered kohl or eye shadow gently on your waterline over the existing layer of liner.
- Use a q-tip or a cotton swab to wipe off any of the excess kohl powder.
- And you’re ready to go!
Give it a try. I am sure you will not regret.
