Hey all beauty geeks!!! This seems to be the season of discovering Holy Grails. After the proud possession of Physician Formula’s Mineral Pressed Powder and Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer, I became more daring to discover the one thing which is still missing in my makeup collection – my HG concealer. I have tried almost all brands of concealers – drugstore and quite few expensive brands. But somehow, have not been able to find ‘the one’.
Buying Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer was a result of such desperate and brave attempt. So lets find out Am I still lucky or did my luck run out???
About Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer:
Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer was launched by the brand in Fall/Winter collection 2012. Sonia Kashuk is considered a premium drugstore brand and has quite impressive products to offer. The company describes the concealer as:
‘The rich cream formula transforms upon contact with the skin into a lightweight, blendable fluid that evens skin tone, conceals under eye circles and camouflages imperfections. Infused with active treatment ingredients, this concealer does double duty to fill in and prevent fine lines while enhancing skin’s texture, so it looks softer, smoother and more radiant. ‘
Price : $9.99 for 1.9g.
Ingredients: mentioned on the package.
Directions: After applying moisturizer and PRIMER all over face dab concealer over imperfections and under eyes using your finger or SYNTHEITC CONCEALER BRUSH. With a gentle tapping motion blend into skin. Follow up if needed with RADIANT TINTED MOISTURIZER or PERFECTING LUMINOUS FOUNDATION
My take on Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer in Wheat:
Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer comes in four shades – Porcelain, Ivory, Sand and Wheat. I chose Wheat as it was the closest match to my skin. The Wheat shade is an amazing color of beige that does not dull my complexion.
Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up concealer is a medium to high coverage product. I have hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks and it becomes pretty impossible to cover them up without piling up layers of products. This stuff works brilliantly to almost hide the dark spots. It does look a little ashy on dark spots. But that is not the issue with the concealer.
Beige shades make dark spots look ashy underneath. So, I first apply my Kryolan Corrector in Orange and then, this concealer. Did I just say I have dark spots??? No, I don’t. It is that good. Yipee!!!!
Texture: The concealer has a very creamy texture. It feels very hydrating and blends easily and beautifully. It does not drag or tug on your skin as lot of creamy concealers do. It has a very emollient-type feel to it, but dries up fast. I have even tried it in layers and does not look cakey, but you do need to blend it properly.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is great. You just need a tiny amount to get a good coverage. This also works on under-eye circles. Girls, if this can cover my hyper-pigmentation, it can cover any damn thing in the world. It looks a bit orangey in the pic, but looks ok on my face.
Staying Power: Lasts for an entire day. I wore it on a mountain trail and it stood its ground the entire time. You do need to set it with a powder though.
Packaging: The concealer comes in a sleek small pot with a black twist cap. You need to dip your finger or a brush to get the concealer out.
What I like about Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer in Wheat:
- Awesome coverage.
- Feels light.
- Does not look cakey.
- Does not emphasize fine lines or pores.
- Sets nicely with a powder.
- Stays for long.
- Blends easily.
- Does not crease if used with a primer.
- Comparable to expensive concealers.
- Not tested on animals.
- Paraben, fragrance and oil- free.
What I do not like about Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer in Wheat:
- Unhygienic jar packaging.
- The quantity is less, but then you do need a little bit.
- Unavailability in India.
Covers my dark spots, does not make me look all made up and light on the pocket. What else do I need from a concealer??? I fell in love the first time I used it and the love affair still continues. Highly Recommended!!!
