Hey all beauty geeks!!! I am a newbie at makeup overall and have just started with eye makeup. Initially, I would understand only eyeshadows and eyeliners as stuff required for doing makeup. Later, mascaras and a basic eyeshadow applicator entered the picture. However, my eye look would never turn out the way one would see in the ads or movies. Obviously, I needed more precise brushes for a blended eye look. Well, I did not want to splurge at the same time. Its then ELF brushes came to my rescue. Today I share one of my favorite of the lot – ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush.

My take on ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush:
ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush is one of the many eye brushes offered by the Essential line of ELF cosmetics. I added this brush quite late to my collection as I did not really consider it important. However, the more I started learning and practicing eye makeup, I realized that this little baby was required for a beautiful eye look. And it turned out quite true. I have been using this brush so often now that I don’t even realize that it was not even in my collection about some time back.
ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush is a dome-shaped brush. It looks like a pencil brush, but it is not as stiff as the pencil brush. The brush is immensely helpful in placing the eye shadow precisely in the eye crease. It fits perfectly in the eye crease for application of any accent/ crease color. I could not never achieve a crisp crease look before this. However, this is not where its ability stops. The brush is so versatile and can be used in so many ways:
- To place shadow in the crease (already discussed above).
- To place shadow in the outer V; creates a concentrated color application.
- To highlight the inner corner of the eyes.
- To apply highlighter on the browbone.
- To apply eye shadow precisely to the upper or lower lash line.
- To smudge the eyeshadow on the lower lash line.
Yup, this little brush does all this amazingly well. Talk about vasooling the one dollar spent.
Performance: The bristles are very soft to touch and do not feel scratchy or hard on the eye lid. The bristles pick up decent amount of color and pack it beautifully on the eyelids. The brush has a long white handle to hold it comfortably and maneuver well in any angle required.
Durability: The handle of the brush is sturdy. The brush sheds a little in the beginning. However, once I washed the brush, there was no significant shedding post that.
However, if you repurchase it, you can’t be sure you will get the same brush. I have got the brush twice and both times it is shaped differently. Sometimes the bristles are short, sometimes long. Don’t get me wrong here. This does not hamper the performance of the brush in anyway.
What I love about ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush:
- Very versatile brush.
- Soft bristles.
- Easy to handle.
- Picks up color easily.
- Blends beautifully.
- Controlled application.
- Super cheap.
- Durable brush.
What I do not love about ELF Essential Eye Crease Brush:
- Sheds a little.
- Not every crease brush has the same shape.
- Unavailability in India.
Final Impression: It is not the best crease brush out there, but for the price and its versatility I love this brush. And will recommended to a beginner and an expert alike. The best bang you can get for your dollar or INR equivalent to a dollar.
