Last week I had to attend reception ceremony of my Sister in law. Iam really a sucker for brown and nudes and as usual I picked my browns and neutral lip shades for my makeup. My bhabhi told me that my Mac Twig is not at all going well with my bottle green Anaarkali, rather I should pair it with some Maroon or Wine shade of lippy. I called my hubby dear and asked for his help, as usual he asked me to write the name of shade in a piece of paper so that he don’t need to worry about explaining the shade to the shop wala
To cut long story short he came back home with two Elle 18 Color Pops lippies- one in Wine shade and the other in Maroon shade. I asked him what is that, why didn’t he picked Maybelline or Lakme instead- he gave me a look and told that I’ve written only the name of the shade and not the name of the brand so he picked what he liked and that from now onwards he is not going to do shopping of any makeup stuff for me no matter how grave the emergency would be?
To pacify him I thanked him for picking those lovely shades for me and that how much I love these lippies

My take on Elle 18 Color Pops Maroon Inris:
First lets talk about the shade- it is a beautiful shade which compliments my dusky skin tone beautifully and am sure will suit a lot of girls as it instantly brightens the complexion. As already mentioned the texture is a bit waxy so I have to be a bit careful for a neat application, however on the pigmentation front this lippy is winner, just a swipe and I have a lovely maroon shade on my lips.
The lipstick is creamy so I am keeping these lippies in refrigerator now a days so that they can-not melt in this scorching heat. Owing to creamy texture it glides easily on lips and never dries out my lips or feel tacky- may be due to the presence of that Cocoa Butter ingredient in the middle of the stick.
Two things that are thumbs down from my side are the smell and the staying power.
I find the smell a bit artificial- like in some incense sticks. Secondly it has a poor staying power, it stay maximum for 1.5-2 hours on my lips and after snacks or a light meal it disappears completely without leaving any stains or tint behind.
What I like about Elle 18 Color Pops Maroon Iris:
- Beautiful shade.
- Affordable and very easily available.
- Available in a variety of shade.
- Creamy texture- easy to apply and rich in pigmentation.
- Long shelf life.
What I don’t like about Elle 18 Color Pops Maroon Iris:
- Waxy texture.
- Smells weird.
- Complete list of ingredients is not mentioned.
- Poor staying power.
- Difficult to identify the shade by looking at just the packaging.
Shall I recommend this?
Although these lippies have some thumbs-down points, yet for those who don’t want to splurge thousands of bucks on lippies can try it for sure as these are one of the best low-budget lippies available in the market.
Shall I repurchase this?
I already have two lippies from this range so in near future I don’t need to repurchase ‘em
