My take on Real Techniques Powder Brush:
Real Techniques Powder Brush is one of the various superb brushes offered by Real Techniques. I have the expert face brush from Real Techniques, so I had high expectations from this brush as well. As with the expert face brush, the powder brush is also a part of the ‘base’ category of the brushes. I picked it up solely based on the size and the fluffiness of the bristles. It seemed that it would apply powder in a very soft way and not make it appear cakey on the face.
Well, I was sooooo right!!! (as always When I first received the brush, I thought it was too big. However, it soon proved to be the perfect size for application of powder on face. The brush works with all kinds of loose powder, pressed powders and even powder foundations for a sheer coverage. I generally tap the brush into the product and then apply the powder again in a tapping motion on the face. Then, as a last step I just swirl the brush across the face to get rid of the excess, if any. It covers the whole face quickly and beautifully. I use the powder brush just not for powders, but also for light all over bronzer and blush application. It is also perfect for applying any kind of powder to your body. The bristles do not absorb any product or bacteria and hence, are perfect for sensitive skin.
Performance: The brush is made of synthetic taklon bristles which are in no way harsh on the skin. The brush feels extremely soft and fluffy. The bristles are not very dense or sparse but just perfect to buff the product smoothly to create an high-definition flawless finish. The bristles are hand-cut to get the precise round shape to aid in the application without any visible lines. The skin looks air-brushed and oh so smooth!!!
Packaging: The brush has a light aluminum handle with a copperish-gold color. The brush comes with its name – Powder Brush – printed on the handle. The tips of the bristles are white. The brush has a wide base, so you can make the brush stand on its own. The entire packaging is very sleek.
Durability: The brush is very sturdy and at the same time, very light to use. I have experienced no shedding of bristles, either while using it or after a wash. Infact, the brush does not take much time to dry and the bristles become softer post washing.
What I love about Real Techniques Powder Brush:
- Extremely soft bristles.
- Blends every product like a dream.
- Multi-tasking brush.
- Picks up the right amount of product evenly.
- Sleek packaging.
- Hand-cut bristles.
- Light and easy to handle.
- No shedding.
- Quick dry time.
- Unique in a way to stand on its own.
- Affordable compared to the quality.
- Cruelty free.
What I do not love about Real Techniques Powder Brush:
- A little bulky to store.
- Unavailability in India.
Final Impression: I am back to being shine-free, thanks to this brush. You just can’t go overboard with any product using this brush. If you are still not able to figure out the best way to apply your powders, ladies you NEED this brush in your kitty. Even a cheap powder will give you a flawless finish with this brush. Highly Recommended!!!
