With this temperature soaring high, it’s time to bring sexy back. But to do justice to that trendy backless outfit, you must have a clear, glowing back. Today, I will share with you the secrets to get a glowing back naturally.
Our back is prone to tanning and damage from pollution in summer. The skin of our back is similar to facial skin and tends to develop acne, blemishes, blackhead and whitehead. Regular exfoliation is a must to remove the outer dead layer of skin, unclog the pores and bring out the clear skin. There is a lot one can do at home to improve the texture of our backs.
Here are a few home remedies according to each skin type.
FOR NORMAL SKIN
- Rice and honey scrub :
Make a paste of rice flour, honey, milk and a few drops of patchouli oil. Scrub your back with it in circular motions. Wash off after a while with water.
Patchouli oil has natural antiseptic properties which help control acne and blackhead\whitehead.
- Milk and baking soda :
Prepare a pack by mixing one tablespoon milk with the same amount of baking soda and massage your back with it. A mixture of sea salt and baking soda works as an excellent scrub for soft, polished back.
FOR OILY SKIN
- Salt and honey scrub :
Prepare a scrub using honey and salt, one tablespoon each. Add a few drops of patchouli oil and apply it on wet skin in circular motion. Wash it off once it dries.
- Besan and moong dal scrub :
Make a paste of gram flour ( besan) and moong dal, one tablespoon each. Add a few drops of patchouli oil and some milk to it. Apply it on your back and wash off when it dries completely.
FOR DRY SKIN
- Aloe vera and baking soda :
Make a paste of baking soda and aloe vera gel or juice. Leave it on for 4 minutes and rinse off. Follow it with toning, moisturizing and sun blocking.
- Aromatherapy :
Mix sugar, olive oil and glycerine, one tablespoon each and add a few drops of patchouli oil. Apply on your back, wash off and apply a good sunscreen.
Keep some important points in mind to keep the zit at bay.
- – do not wear sweaty clothes. Dirt and sweat clog the pores of skin and lead to acne.
- – when carrying heavy backpacks, wear a clean t-shirt to avoid excessive friction.
- – opt for loose cotton fabric clothes and let your skin breathe.
- – use non- comedogenic products. Do not use products that dry skin too much, as our glands will start producing excessive oil.
