Today I am going to review another blush from MAC. I have just started to fall in love with blushes, and thus I prefer subtle and natural looking blush shades rather than the daring ones.
So today, I’ll be reviewing a pretty pink blush from MAC, So sweet so easy. It was a “limited edition” blush launched as a part of the Lilyland collection, but luckily it has been made permanent now.
About MAC Blush So Sweet So Easy:
A blush that manages to make a simple blush state-of-the-art. Creamy, easy to blend medium coverage formula imparts a natural finish that’s smooth, dewy-fresh, long-lasting.
Price: US$21.00/INR 1350 for 5.6 g / 0.19 US oz
My experience with MAC Blush So Sweet So Easy:
Packaging: The blush comes housed in a traditional MAC black pot. Like other MAC blushes, it has neither a mirror inside, nor an applicator. The transparent lid helps in detecting shades from outside.
Shade: It is a bright vivid bubblegum pink. But on skin it is much lighter than on the pot. It beautifully enhances the natural tone of my skin.
Texture: It is creamy, but not at all oily. It doesn’t feel thick or heavy. It is soft, creamy, moisturizing, is very easy to blend and very easy to work with. It finally dries to a semi-matte finish, which I love.
Pigmentation: Average pigmentation, though it can be built up. I am NW25 and on me it takes about 2-3 swirls for the perfect daytime flush of color and some more for the night look.
Staying power: It stays on for six to eight hours without fading. Wear it alone or as a base for your favorite powder blush to pop. It thus helps in increasing the staying power of your powder blushes as well.
Summing up my Likes and Dislikes:
What I like about MAC Blush So Sweet So Easy:
- Pretty Pinky Blush.
- You can wear it vivid or you can wear it very sheer.
- Creamy, non-oily texture.
- Soft natural finish.
- Blends very nicely and seamlessly.
- Nice soft dewy looking finish to the cheeks.
- Pretty good staying power.
- No breakouts, not even in summers.
- Can be used as a lipstick too.
- Travel friendly packaging.
What I don’t like about MAC So Sweet So Easy:
- Average pigmentation. On darker skin tones, it does takes quite a bit to show up.
Final Thoughts (Repurchase/Recommendation):
If you are looking for a pretty natural looking pink, this is for you. It is neither too light, nor too bright, just perfect. It gives the most natural pink flush to the cheeks. It’s very easy to blend, and does not feel greasy, stays long. It is indeed so sweet (color) and so easy (to apply). Dip it, dab it, and you are ready to go.
And I really want to try out more shades soon!! Suggestions ladies??
TRICK: Instead of using brushes or fingers, I use the part of my palm just bellow my thumb to apply cream blushes. It works great for easy seamless blending.
(I had to pile it up to make it visible in the pictures)
