How are you all? I apologize for being MIA for so many days but I had my own reasons. Apparently we had gone on a small trip also since it was our kid’s fifth birthday but after returning from the trip the very next day she fell sick and it was a bad case of pneumonia according to the doctor. Finally she is recovering quickly and I am relieved and very happy writing this review I really missed being around and writing for the blog as a result I do have a few reviews pending and have to catch up on everything I missed in the past days. Coming to the review it is bold red lipstick from NYX.

My Take on NYX Round Lipstick Chaos:
I like the name of this color, it is beautiful blue based red. It is not very bright but does give a very bold look. It is a deeper red lipstick and has a little hint of fuchsia to it making it a complex color and hence appears slightly pink based on me, which my camera does not seem to pick up. Also it appears very different under different lightings as you see in the pictures. Even though it is a vivid blue based red it really compliments my warm skin tone and will look great on everyone with different skin tones especially deeper skin tones will rock it. I love red lipsticks after neutrals and this is a very unique one in my collection which I adore.
It has a creamy texture devoid of any shimmer or glitter and has a slight glossy finish to it, which gives it an extra dimension and does not settle in the creases of lips. The texture is smooth and creamy but not overly soft like many of their other shades which is good since it is red color. It glides extremely smoothly on my lips and there is no need of a lip balm underneath as it does not feel drying at all and feels comfortable when worn for long. It is intensely pigmented and there is no way you can apply it directly from the tube as it gets slightly messy, and for a precise application a lip brush is needed to get neat lines as even a slight mistake is difficult to fix with this color. It gives creamy opaque coverage in a single swipe very much suitable for pigmented lips as well. I have this lipstick from a while but just started using it recently and so far I have not faced any issues of the lipstick melting like their other shades.
I have tried it with a lip liner and without one as well. Even though it is creamy I did not notice any kind of feathering and hence it worked very well without a liner as well, when used with a liner it prolonged the wear time slightly. It stays for around 5 to 6 hours on me with slight transferring and fading in between which is not bad since it is not matte and leaves behind a subtle tint which comes off easily late on and does no stain lips like many red lipstick which I like.
What I like about NYX Round Lipstick Chaos:
- Stunning red shade
- Intensely pigmented,
- Glides very smoothly on lips
- Does not settle in the creases on my lips
- Very moisturizing and comfortable to wear
What I don’t like about NYX Round Lipstick Chaos:
- Staying power is not very impressive
I think this is a must have lipstick in you collection if you love red lipsticks, it is a slightly unique shade of red and very flattering for all skin tones.
Wise She Rating: 4 /5
