Hey all beauty geeks!!! How are you all? Lately, I have started loving shimmers and shine on the eyelids. I love matte eye shadows as well, but just a sparkle on the eye lid is definitely a trend these days. Which translates into buying a lot of shimmery and shiny eye shadows for me. However, I realized that shimmer is not the only way to get a beautiful sheen on the lids. A metallic finish can do the same with a subtle charm. Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadows prove the point very well. Today I am going to review one of these eyeshadows in Buzz for you ‘sparkly’ people.
About Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow:
Victoria’s Secret has an equally famous makeup line. The website describes the eyeshadow as:
‘Prove your mettle with this innovative metallic eye shadow that draws attention. A must for any party or date night. This highly-reflective eye shadow drenches lids in extraordinary multidimensional color. ‘
Price : $12.
Directions: For a more intense effect, build color on lids. Sweep on a light shade, then layer the same shade or a deeper hue over it.
My take on Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow In Buzz:
Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadows are available in several shades. I picked up three shades from this range. The eyeshadow in Buzz is a darkened plum with strong grey undertones. It is not as bright as it looks in the pan. But the color has such a beautiful sheen that completely transforms the eye look. And the best part is that the eyes do not look ‘over-the-top’ shimmery. The eyeshadow catches the light at various angles to reflect the sheen. Otherwise, it looks like an almost matte darkened plum.
Because of the dark color, this shade is more suited for a nighttime look. In fact, the eyeshadow in Buzz looks perfect for a purple smokey look. The grey undertones give a full smokey effect to the eyeshadow without even adding a black shade to smoke it out. If you are looking for an easier smokey eye look, this shade is the perfect answer. I use the eyeshadow over several different colored bases to add a smokey plum dimension to the entire look.
Texture: The eyeshadow is smooth and goes on evenly on the lids. It is not at all powdery, but a little gritty. This does not spoil the quality in anyway. Looks very soft on lids and there is no major fallout. Easily blended on eyelids.
Pigmentation: The eyeshadow in Buzz has a sheer but buildable pigmentation. One swipe does not do anything for the color. At least three swipes and a base gets the true beauty of the color out.
Staying Power: Stays on a base for a very long time. The shimmers do not transfer and do not translate into an ‘all-over-eye’ shimmer look. Does not crease or smudge either.
Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in very basic circular eyeshadow pan with a plastic, transparent lid. The eyeshadow has a diamond-like print which makes it look super pretty.
What I like about Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow In Buzz:
- Gorgeous metallic finish.
- Buildable pigmentation.
- Beautiful smokey color.
- Smooth texture.
- No major fallout.
- Blends easily.
- Even application.
- Stays for very long.
- Does not crease.
What I do not like about Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow In Buzz:
- Would have loved a more pigmented color.
- Not very sturdy packaging.
- Unavailability in India.
Victoria’s Secret Metallized Eyeshadow in Buzz is a pretty smoked out metallic plum color. If you can work on building the pigmentation, it is a must for every ‘smokey eyelook’ fan. Gives a unique multi-dimension look to the eye without looking like a disco ball. I love the color for its smokiness and would definitely recommend it.
