Every girl loves makeup whether she is only into a liner and lip balm or indulges in heavy dose of cosmetics. The colors fascinate me the most and how instantly these colors can change the total look of a person. I keep experimenting with lipsticks and eyeliners to add that oomph factor to my features without wearing layers of makeup. This time I tried experimenting with a different kind of lipstick. Keep reading to explore the shade.

My experience with Maybelline 14 hour Super Stay Lipstick Perpetual Peony:
Smell: This particular lipstick has a yummy candy like smell.
Packaging: This lipstick has transparent plastic body which reveals the true shade of the lip color. There is a white cap attached to it and the shade name and no. is mentioned at the bottom. Though it is very lightweight yet the cap may break if someone happens to drop the lipstick on the ground.
Shade: The shade Perpetual Peony is a milky mauve shade. To be honest this was a gift from a friend so I never got to try this at the counter. On wearing it I found that it is too white for my complexion. This is not an everyday wearable shade and definitely not an office wear too. This will solely suit extremely fair ladies who have a flawless complexion and they can wear it as a match with a particular dress or so. Otherwise I don’t think this will go with Indian skin at all. Girls who keep experimenting with makeup looks or dress in a very funky manner can pick this up.
Texture and Pigmentation The texture of this lipstick is creamy matte. There is no pulling or tugging of lips required as such to glide on the lip color. In fact it might even melt a little in extreme summers but not to the extent of becoming extremely soft and breaking down. One needs properly scrubbed lips prior to wearing this lip shade lest the dead skin gets flaunted with this lipstick. Somehow it does not dry out the lips in any manner and its better not to wear a lip balm beneath as the lipstick is on the creamier side.
The color pay off is good and 1-2 swipes impart the final shade of the lipstick but what is bothersome is the patchiness. After meals it vanishes in patches and even at times the lip color gets unevenly displaced too. A lip liner is a must along with this as it bleeds very badly. The worst part is the settling in between the lip lines; being a milky shade due to this particular feature the lipstick fails to impress me in total.
Staying Power: The staying power is long as the other shades of this range from Maybelline but it vanishes unevenly and looks very bad. Also it transfers a lot to tea cups and elsewhere. At the end of the day one needs a good make up remover to get rid of the color completely.
Summing it up:
What I like about Maybelline 14 hour Super Stay Lipstick Perpetual Peony:
- Milky Mauve Shade
- Does not dry out the lips
What I dislike about Maybelline 14 hour Super Stay Lipstick Perpetual Peony:
- Settles heavily in between the lines
- Shade does not compliment Indian Skin
- Vanishes inappropriately
- Bleeds a lot
- Gets easily transferred as well as displaced
Overall verdict: In all this is a not something that I can recommend to anyone, I really do not know what to say because neither does the shade compliment Indian complexion nor does the texture impress me. From its settling in between the lip lines to the vanishing in inappropriate manner I cannot call it a good package. Hope you find this helpful.
