Hello my dear beautiful friends,
How are you lovely ladies doing? Let me share a little story before I leap onto our review. Few hours before my last minute packing to Maldives, I realised I didn’t had a waterproof mascara. Frankly I’m not a great mascara fan, Infact seldom use it but you know when you n go on a holiday and wanna look beautiful every moment, packing makeup, accessories is a chaotic task and in addition to that, once we realised we lack even one product from the tons we pack, trust me, it feels miserable and the missing product appears as a VVIP HG product. So here came my knight in shining armour to rescue his damsel in distress. He rushed to a nearest drugstore and in-between the confusing sales girls suggestions and unhelpful me, got the L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D – the mascara which I’m going to review shortly.
And a look at it, I knew why he liked it. Among its colourful cheeky competitors, with imprinted intellectual words and classy royal packaging L’Oreal looked every bit like a ‘strictly business’ and a promising mascara. So let’s see if it really is., and if I would send my husband for my emergency beauty shopping next time
About L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D Mascara:
L’Oréal Paris creates its first false lash effect mascara in 4D, by introducing sculpting-fibres in a mascara. The power of sculpting fibres for lashes to make them look volumized, lenghthened, texturized, curved. Enriched with undetectable and ultra-supple 4mm sculpting-fibres, the formula builds up lashes: moulding, re-shaping and sculpting.
Price: 795 /- INR
Availability: L’Oreal beauty counters across India and several online shopping sites
My experience with L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D Mascara:
Packaging: A silver cap with a teal blue asymmetrical shaped, which proudly displays ‘lash architect 4D’ however if not for its prism body, it reminds me of school uniform manifesting a silver medal but yeah, we don’t call it a school uniform, instead say ‘royal’ly packaged.
Staying power: Stays forever!!! Well, at least until you explicitly get rid of it…cause for me, it stayed all through the day and until next morning (I know, I’m lazy attimes) till I removed it with baby oil and eye makeup remover to completely remove its traces. So in essence it clings to our lashes loyally without any flaking or smudging and it’s absolutely ‘water-proof’, so you can swim (believe me, it’s beach-water tested), bathe, cry, sleep – yet wakeup pretty with fluttery eyes.
Formula: the intense black and creamy formula feels very light and doesn’t weight down the lashes.
Without mascara | with single coat roughly applied (un texturised) | double coat lashes un-clumped with wand during application
The Magic Wand: The mascara wand is thin and perfectly angular with 4mm sculpting-fibre bristles and reaches out to inner most lashes and every tiniest lash possible.
My take: Two words – I’m impressed.
That’s me after a long day out, you can still see the mascara doing well
The mascara serves dual purpose – single coat give us a softer look, lengthening and volumizing lashes yet giving a natural subtle look (works for nude makeup) while another one-two coats aims for the dramatic false lash 4D look it promises.
The above pic, I really forgot to curl my lashes and yet you could see it gave me slight curl, standing by its claims. It doesn’t feel heavy inspite of multiple coats, doesn’t clump when applied carefully (easier to separate even if it does), doesn’t smudge and stays infinitely. But let me tell you something, we can’t compete with Kim Kardarshian’s fluttery lashes wearing this 4D false lash architect alone, it ain’t that dramatic. But girls, that is a different story about KK (and it reminds me of Maitri’s interesting article – , if you wanna check out)
What I like about L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D Mascara:
- It’s prism shaped asymmetrical body
- That ‘architect’ wand which reaches even tiniest lashes and inner corners coating evenly
- Lengthens, volumizes, curls lashes
- Doesn’t get very clumpy, very easy to separate even if it does
- Dual purpose Single coat – for softer look; Multiple coats – for dramatic look
- Waterproof (true, beach-water tested)
- Doesn’t feel heavy, even with multiple coats
- Doesn’t smudge
- Doesn’t weigh down lashes after few hours
- Amazing staying power
What I don’t like about L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D Mascara:
- Need good make-up remover or multiple cotton swipes of baby/olive oils
- Doesn’t compete with Kim Kardarshians lashes inspite of being a 4D lash architect ;-P
- Expected to be more intense and dramatic, but yeah!! this works for me.
Recommendation: definitely an yes, I’m pretty impressed with this magic wand and can definitely afford to send my hubs alone for my emergency beauty shopping next time..that is if he ever gets a chance!!
So beauties, next time you check mascara, try this L’Oreal False Lash Architect 4D and I’m sure you can’t agree more.
