Hey my dear beauties how are you all?
Today I shall review an eye shadow by Almay from its Softies range. True to its name they are really very soft and I love the soft feel, but do I love this eye shadow?
Of course just loving the soft feel does not say that I love this eye shadow. To know how I feel about this eye shadow read on.

My experience with Almay Shadow Softies Eyeshadow 125 Crème Brulee :
Packaging: The packaging is very adorable, compact and cute. The eye shadow comes in a tiny matte black pan and has a transparent see-through lid. The ingredients and other details are mentioned at the base of the pan.
Texture: As I already mentioned I totally love the soft feel of these eyeshadows. The company claims that they have a whipped texture but that not true here in the case of softies and is quite misleading. The texture is more towards the powder texture and is felt a little bouncy when pressed the eyeshadow with fingers. Basically these have a light, soft, spongy kind of texture.
Shade: Crème Brulee is a very sheer, shimmery shade leaning more towards a nude pink.
Pigmentation: Almay Softies are very light and sheer eye shadows and the shade “Crème Brulee” is no exception , indeed is away too sheer. It is all golden shimmers and no color is to be seen in swatches or on lids. Despite of multiple layering all I could have is heavy shimmer. This eyeshadow makes up for a perfect highlighter.
My Take: Crème Brulee is definitely sheer and the shimmer is much more visible in person than in the pictures.
Crème Brulle cannot be worked with eye brushes; Eye brush fails to pick up the eye shadow and it is only the finger that works best for these.
I do not have many expectations with it for our Indian skin tones. This eye shadow will work well as a top color for any other shade and works best as a highlighter.
But if you desire to use it as a self dependent eye shadow shade, then you are left with no help here.
The texture of these is so soft that I actually had my finger marks on the eye shadow while I swiped my finger to take some shade out. The shimmer is not at all gritty and has zero fall outs.
Using this eye shadow with a primer underneath will give a stay for some 7 -8 hours after which it begins to crease and fade.
What I like about Almay Shadow Softies Eyeshadow 125 Crème Brulee:
- Cute, Compact packaging.
- Soft, smooth & easily blendable texture.
- Zero fallouts.
- Decent staying power.
- Works well on top of other shades and as a highlighter.
What I don’t like about Almay Shadow Softies Eyeshadow 125 Crème Brulee:
- Poor color pigmentation.
- People who do not like shimmer may not like this.
3 rating because this eyeshadow can be put to use in other ways and has a soft, smooth and blendable texture.
Will I Recommend: Not highly recommended but people who are on a look out for golden shimmery highlighting shade may try this.
