I am back with another review; it is the Garnier Sleek restorer, blended especially for the Britain weather. I have rather dry and limp hair. I do get an oily scalp, but the ends are dry always. I got my khadi shampoos from India; sadly they didn’t work well in this cold climate. The weather in England is rather moist and cold now. It rains any time
And my hair behaves funny anytime too. Anyhow, I picked up my first choice to go for, before I went to the L’Occitane store. Mainly because, I was short on time and all I could find was Boots retail near my house.
Let me start with the shampoo first, I usually buy the shampoo conditioner in combo, so that I do full justice to the products.
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo:
Price: £3 for 400 ml
Description: “Our sumptuous Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer Shampoo, with Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter creates a beautiful lather to leave dry, frizzy hair feeling clean and soft. Use with the Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer Conditioner for hair that feels velvety smooth and looks super-sleek, with frizz under control.
RESULT: Up to 72 hours super-sleek smoothness. Frizz under control, even in damp British weather.”
My take on Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo:
The weather here is cold, moist and a bit harsh for my hair, so I had to go for something that would suit my hair. I thought of trying the Garnier Ultimate Blends the Sleek Restorer shampoo. The best part about this shampoo is that it is parbens free. It does leave my hair a bit dry, but with the conditioner I think it really helps the frizz. Plus it counters the weather, perfectly. Although, the use of coconut oil is picked up from India, it also contains cocoa butter, which makes the fragrance irresistible.
The shampoo goes long way, I usually dilute the shampoo and then use it, this way I don’t concentrate the gel like shampoo to one part of my hair. I love the fragrance and it remains even after the wash which is nice. In short, leaves the hair squeaky clean.
What I like about the Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo:
- Is perfect for the UK weather,
- Love the fragrance,
- Does not leave any residue,
- 400 ml bottle goes a long way,
- Parabens free,
- Value for money.
What I dislike about Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo:
- Can be drying if used without the conditioner.
Let me go on to the conditioner;
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Conditioner:
Price: £2.50 for 400 ml
Description: Our Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer Conditioner, with Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter infuses dry hair, leaving it beautifully nourished and silky to the touch.
My take on Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Conditioner:
I usually cannot do without a conditioner, since I have dry hair. And the shampoo calls for using the conditioner, thus I usually go for it and the days when I am lazy, I really know that the conditioner makes a difference.
The texture of the conditioner is a bit runny, but it works just fine. I leave it for 2-3 minutes on my ends only. It does not weigh my hair down too much, since I have long hair. But it makes it shiny. If I use a very thick conditioner, I have a problem of limp hair; this conditioner works perfect for me.
What I like about the Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Conditioner:
- Suits my hair type, does not leave it limp,
- Fragrance lingers on for the whole day,
- Value for money.
What I dislike about the Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Conditioner:
- I have nothing to dislike about the conditioner.
Overall rating of both used together: 4/5.
